I am a little versed (very little) with joomla but I am having an issue uploading two zip’d files of Ja Portfolio through the admin side. One is the source folder and the other is the quickstart real estate zip folder. The system just spins and spins and does not upload them. All other files have been installed.

Can the files be unzipped and manually uploaded? Do I just put them under the Ja Portfolio folder? Do files have to be in specific sub folders as how they are shown when unzipped?

thanks. Any insight would be great.

The source folder is just the photoshop sliced images. You do not upload that but instead unzip that to your desktop and use the sliced images to help you re-design elements of the site. Most people do not know nor care with regards to this. You need to know your way around photoshop or similar to use them anyway.

The quickstart is a very different beast. Again, it should not be uploaded viat the joomla back end. The quickstart is a nifty complete Joomla install including all the plugins, modules and components along with the demo data. It is used by those wanting to start a new site with a Joomlart template as it sets up a new Joomla install to look just like the demo.

thanks for the info. As for the quickstart file, I am confused. If you already have joomla installed, how do you go about handling the file.

    thanks for the help.

You do not need it if you already have Joomla installed. It is only there to help people setup new sites.

An additional use of it would be to setup the demo on your localhos so you can examine how everything is setup.
