    Hi Support

I need some urgent help please. I am currently developing a new web site at http://www.questgreekislands.com

I have transfered my current website at http://www.questbg.com, renamed the databases, etc.

Today I have added this domain to my list of Authorised domains, generated the ja_licencekey.txt file and uploaded it:

I then clicked on the ‘THIS LINK’ and sure enough, it gave me the text contained in the licence key on the server.

However, when I click on ‘Yes, the file is uploaded. Verify now!’ button, I get the following error message:

Please advise why this licencekey can not be verified? I haven’t had this problem on any of my other domains?

    Many Thanks
    Chris

Panic over! It was my own stupidity! I had password protected the site and didn’t figure out that the key couldn’t be verified whilst protection was active.

I switched off protection and verified, everything OK. :-[

However, I still have a massive problem with this site, that I thought was being caused due to no JA licence key … however, now I’ve verified the key, the problem still exists.

I duplicated my current site it http://www.questbg.com and copied everything into http://www.questgreekislands.com and then renamed the SQL database, FTP information, etc.

Everything loads fine on the front page, however, every single item of the site (Sections, Categories, Every Menu, Every Article, etc.) gives me a ‘Not Found’ error.

Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? Myself and my hosting company have spent the last six hours trawling through the configs and can’t spot anything.

JA Staff, please feel free to take a look using SuperAdmin details provided.

    Many Thanks
    Chris

Working now, i turned off SEF in global configuration.
Can you check that you have renamed htaccess.txt to .thaccess?

    Hi Menalto

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Haven’t seen you here for awhile.

    I’m confused! I didn’t think I’d given you SA access to this domain ( http://www.questgreekislands.com )

Plus, it’s supposed to be password protected on the front end :-[

However, thank you, this seems to have fixed the problem although I’m still confused that I have SEF on in questbg.com and it works fine, but not on questgreekislands.com?

    Very strange.

I’m going for a large glass of beer 😮

    Thanks again
    Chris

The info you posted in first post works(hidden from other users).
The two sites, are they on the same server?
Did you check the htaccess file?

Hee hee, of course I forget you are Moderator for JA and can see that info!! :-[ 😀

As regards my .htaccess file, I appear to have:

    .htaccess
    htaccess.txt
    and
htaccess.bak (first time I tried to modify it, I backed up first)

Should I remove one of these files?

    thanks

They can be there, but the questgreekislands.com is that site on the same server as questbulgaria?

Yes, all my domains are hosted on the same VPS.

    Hi questbg,

Just out of curiosity. What VPS do you use?

And I hope you enjoyed that large glass of beer. Cheers!

I use HostColor, they are reasonably priced and have excellent customer service.

More info on their VPS packages here:
