I have now almost finished my site…my client now want a shopping cart. Virtuemart is no good as its not compatible with j.3.

Am I stuffed? is there anything out there that can help me?

Has everyone jumped the gun using j3 templates?

You can try to user JOMShopping Component which supports JOOMLA 3.0, you can have a look at link here
