Hello,
Before updating to Joomla 3.7, I could send a link of a registered page to a contact (along with a login and password) and the direct link would automatically present the user with a login form, from where they could enter and view the registered page (without having to navigate) after logging in.
This no longer works. When the user attempts to use the link they are redirected to the home page,.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that my JA Login Module is out of date. This is my second problem. I have an active JATC Standard Membership, however your site longer permits me to download the updated module. When I attempt to download the module, it says:
"Your account does not have permission to download this item. Sign Up Now!"
Why is that?
Please note, I have googled this and read suggestions that I need to clear my browser cache. I have tried this, however it does not work.
To give you an example of a registered page link, try:
This is an htaccess redirect
Please help. I need to send out some registered pages urgently.
Thank you

May 16, 2017 at 1:53 am #1034306Hi,
Could you share the login info of your site and clarify steps by steps to replicate the issue so I will take a look?

May 17, 2017 at 3:28 pm #1034809Hi,
The provided admin account doesn’t work, could you help to check again?
For the download issue, could you send me the link where you can’t download? I will check for you.
Regards

May 19, 2017 at 3:29 am #1035273Hi,
Unfortunately, the login info still doesn’t work, could you check again?
For the download issue, as I can see that you have JATC membership which has access to JA Templates only, why above link is for JAEC – JA Extension club so you see that message.
You can access & download via this download section of template as the module is also included there: https://www.joomlart.com/downloads/joomla-templates/ja-events-ii/

May 19, 2017 at 11:27 am #1035415I tried again and the updated modules appeared, not sure what happened. Anyway, I updated all the components of the site, but the login problem remains. Please try the last admin password that I sent. Thanks

May 22, 2017 at 10:34 am #1036005Hi,
I can login with above info but I check your site and see that the home pages of both languages are set to Public which means that all the people: Guest / Registered … can see the page, I’m not entirely sure of why it needs to redirect to other login page?
May 23, 2017 at 11:39 am #1036351Hi,
No, that is the problem. The link is not meant to take the visitor to the home page (http://escuta.org). The link: http://escuta.org/botanica_pt is an .htaccess redirect to: http://escuta.org/pt/proj/inst/botanica/intro.html
which is a registered page. In previous versions of Joomla, a visitor could enter one of the these two URLs and be presented with the desired page, but with login information required to visualise it. Now, when someone enters the link, they are redirected (erroneously) to the home page, which yes, is public. Is that any clearer?
Thanks
May 24, 2017 at 12:48 pm #1036706Could this be a K2 problem?

May 24, 2017 at 2:43 pm #1036718So you mean that whenever a guess visits your site via: http://escuta.org/ or http://escuta.org/botanica_pt , guess should be redirected to a registered page, right?
It should be related to the rule you set via htaccess, not the template. You can try with default template and see how it goes.
Joomla has just released new version with bug fixes, you can try to take a backup of your site and update it.
May 24, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1036750No, when a guest visits http://escuta.org/botanica_pt or http://escuta.org/pt/proj/inst/botanica/intro.html they get redirected to http://escuta.org (that page, but with a different php URL, eg. http://escuta.org/pt/component/users/?view=login&Itemid=101).
I just updated the site to Joomla 3.7.2, but unfortunately, the problem remains the same.
Thanks
