Hi – We have correctly installed: JA Amazon S3 Component
Sync is working, we see the files moved to AmazonS3 bucket
PROBLEM : Links are not being updated – so front end website – still pulling URLs from our local server.
We assume ALL URL links from any files uploaded into Joomla 3.0 “images” folder, should: Sync + Update with new Amazon S3 URL Links automatically – right? We do not want a manual process…
URL Linksshould be updated to pull from Amazon – from Psuedo Cron Job – but they are not. How long does that process take?Thanh Nguyen Viet FriendThanh Nguyen Viet

April 18, 2013 at 6:38 am #490267Hello Virtualartists,
Yes, if the file is uploaded to S3, it will be automatically loaded from S3 server on front-end.
Please check if you have enabled JA Amazon S3 plugin. If you did that and it does not help to resolve your issue, please send us PM for your site url and administrator account for further checking, We will help you to resolve it.
April 18, 2013 at 9:32 am #490287hi – Your quick & helpful response appreciated: YES – “System – JA Amazon S3” plugin is enabled.
Our testing shows these results:
– if backend Admin uses your “S3 Upload” button – yes, the URL points to S3 – cool
– if front end web User – uses any regular insert image button, the image URL still points to our local server* the User images are being transferred to S3 via the psuedo-cron job – but the URLs still point to our local server
GOAL : We want ALL media, that any front end web User upoads to be transferred to S3, and the URL points to S3Please advise next steps…
April 26, 2013 at 8:29 am #491123hi – I have not received any reply to my last post, and our issue is not fixed. Does this product actually work as advertised?

July 10, 2013 at 6:58 am #498503After files sync to AmazonS3, can delete from local Joomla Server?
Do not want two copies of the same files.
Goal is to have all image, audio, video files ONLY on AmazonS3
The files should still be accessible via various Joomla front UI, and extensions
thanksThanh Nguyen Viet FriendThanh Nguyen Viet

July 10, 2013 at 7:18 am #498506Hello virtualartists,
JA Amazon S3 component provides an option for deleting files from your sever after they are uploaded to S3.
Which moved image to S3, you still can use/insert them into your articles by using “S3 Images button” plugin (this plug-in is integrated with Joomla editor to allow you browse files from your S3 buckets and insert into your artilces). But this plugin only works with Joomla editor and only support get images now.
So, for the files are used with other extension rather than artilces, you still should keep them on your server.
Regards

Hi
– If your JA Amazon S3 component, does not delete files from Joomla server, then we do not save any disk space on Joomla server.– Also : Now our front end Joomla UI – is not showing images correctly. Are you sure you configured our site correctly, is the AmazonS3 syncing properly? Can you please verify everything in our Admin / JA Amazon S3 component , is setup correctly?
