August 2, 2011 at 4:30 pm #404207It will take some patience with configuring things … but I do want to say that I like what you’re trying to accomplish.
It actually looks good with the general template theme/layout.Don’t give up . . . it may take a little bit of tweeking and trial-and-error, but you’ll get there.
August 2, 2011 at 5:46 pm #404215thanks for the encouragement. but I need a little HELP. I can’t tell if the skin for BISTRO slideshow is fixed width/height? I have been tweaking but no changes. can u help me with that?
also can’t seem to adjust the white space in the header around the logo. I tweaked the template.css but no changes there either. where specifically do I need to change to close the gap between the header and main navigation?
thanks!

August 2, 2011 at 5:58 pm #404217Using FireBug (in looking at the JA Bistro Demo), I see a css rule as follows:
.ja-slidewrap_bistro {
background: url("/ja_bistro/modules/mod_jaslideshow2/assets/themes/bistro/slideshow-bg.png") no-repeat scroll left bottom transparent;
border: medium none;
height: 290px;
margin: 0 0 0 -10px;
padding: 20px 0 40px 10px;
position: relative;
width: 100%;}
so, it would seem that this is (at least one of) the CSS rules you would need to modify as to display height, background, padding, etc.
Do you use FireBug (or a similar online/real-time web development tool) at all?

not really that advanced with these tools :((
I use the developer tools to look at css, images, etc. is that what you mean?
anyway, thanks for the tip. I’ll try another skin and keep playing around with it.
any idea how to remove some of the white space in header? :confused:
peace

August 3, 2011 at 6:00 am #404277Hello aamirah,
To close the gap between the header and main navigation,
Can you please set css optimiation to “No” so we can see the correct files to modify not the compressed version and we can help you better.Please Also send screenshot where you exactly want to close the gap.
