Hi there,
Module user 7,8 and nine at the top of the template don’t show (or anywhere else) in my newly installed Joomla! 1.0.12 with Bellatrix as my favorite Joomla Art template. Nor do I find them in the back office module list…. Does that mean I have to create new modules to have them at my website as well?

Yeah, you have to publish one or more modules to user7, user8, user8 position.
Go to Admin >> Modules >> Click on any module and there is a dropdown of position parameters for you to choose
