    Where do members input their location so their listing shows on the map ?

    If you want to show the location into on the map, you have to add Latitude and Longitude under Extra Fields tab when you add the item of K2 component, see the screenshot

    About more detail to configure item in K2 filter search, you can follow the userguide for reference here

    So members signing up will have to input their lat and lon to have their info display on a map? no way to just add a city and state ?

    I’ve got it to partially work. Lat and long show up, but when I enter coordinates, they have a location listed in CHINA rather than in Indiana, USA… Any ideas ? I can’t figure this out, even with the help guide.

    I’m afraid K2 items show in the map needs Latitude and Longitude fields and optional with city and state.

    May i know what are you expecting to do with User locations and which extension you want to do integrate ?
    About user location you can get it via
    – HTML Geotags
    – IP Geolocation

    What I want to do is simple. Have a users sign up, post their shop name, shop image, and location. So when someone searches, they will see their image, and location on the map as well as everyone else in the area.

    Now it’ll can use as normal way with K2 Filter ( is this extension you have mentioned for searching ? )

    Please somehow provide detail your workflow concept than we can imaging it in right way.
    In basically K2 Filter module used to query input-ed data. That’s all it work.

    Yes, I installed the quick install, everything is setup, but when I enter latitude and longitude, the coordinates show up far from the location, but when i type the same coordinates in a google search, it shows the right location. So I was hoping of a way to just simply enter the city and state rather than the longitude and latitude if possible. I am uploading my site right now, so it will be a few hours before I can show it.
