    Hi,

    I’m confused about the usermodules.

Wistery offers user 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10 “joomla module” positions. After the base joomla install, the only modules occupying those positions are latest news, popular, topmenu and search (users 1 to 4). I can see that after applying the wistery template those modules are in the correct position.

But, what modules can I use for 7,8,9 and 10 ? Anything ? Will they “collapse” ?
In particular, how do I create a user10 module ? The site modules section of admistration only allows up to user 9 !

Also confused about this colour suffix. I created a new test user9 module to just put some text into the module position, added -blue to the class suffix, but the thing still came up green.

    Thanks,

    Colin

Also, I think I have the problem of the menu “looking horrible”. If you go to http://www.cocodeebokohchang.com/new and make the screen narrow, you’ll see that the built-in menu at the top looks “horrible” when it expands to 2 lines. This issue might be described in the bugfixes thread of this forum. If it is could somebody explain in which module you must change the menu type to “flat list”? You’ll notice that the demo of wistery does not have this problem.

    OK – user10 is answered here – http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/user10-module/

But, I’d still like some unserstanding of the general user module question and the horrible memu….

    Thanks!

    Hello!

    Some quick comments:

1: Your horrible menu is due to the fact that you have too many menu items in the top menu. They need to be positioned somewhere and when you have too many items they have to wrap to show somewhere ( as there isn’t any space left to keep them on the same line )

2: As for suffix and so on, not all module suffix can be used in all module positions. Perhaps not well enough documented but for all templates is the same thing. Some module suffix you can’t use in left column, some you can only use in left column and so on. I am not too sure what is written in the documentation and user guide of wistery but I do think that perhasp the module user 9 is “locked” to that green when you are using the green version of Wistery. I am not sure, hopefully someone else can help you out on that as I haven’t read the documentation. Try adding the module to different positions ( in other words, left, right, user 1 and so on to see if it changes. If it does you will know that the suffix is locked to certain positons.

Just a tip to how you can find out yourself, otherwise you can wait for some more cleaver people to help out. 🙂

    Thanks Eric –

you’re right about the module suffixes, another posting here confirms it’s only available for the RIGHT postion modules. Ho hum.

As for the horrible menu. I’d like to see my real site behave like the demo site. When the width tool is set to either 1 or 2, then the menu on the demo site never splits to a second row regardless of how narrow you drag the page to become. In my site, the menu splits to a second row even when the width tool is set to 1 or 2. I think I could live with it if there was a white horizontal divider for when ever it splits – Ideas anyone?
