    Hello All,

I am trying to develop a website for my friend who basically wants a cart (online goods) like pdf documents, images , etc. But the thing is that, each membership needs to be specific. As in, when a person pays 20 usd, he should be able to access the documents only meant for him. Somebody else if signs in should not be able to view his files, but he should have different files.

This is very well done, in Phil Taylors website. For example if u buy a component, u r provided a username and password, and once you enter , you are able to download those files.

I would really like to know, if such an extension exists.

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.

You might want to try DOCman

    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directory-&-documentation/downloads/82/details

    * Access control: Documents can be assigned to specific user or to custom groups of users

Havent used it myself but it is in the top 10 of most popular joomla extentions so i guessing its rather good ๐Ÿ™‚

Docman, remository, Jdownloads are good since they allow you to work with downloadable content. You can also setup ACL and restrict files to different users or user groups. ๐Ÿ™‚ hope that helps

    hello ,

Thank you guys. But here is a question. I would like to make it payment specific, and once a person makes a registration, then automated username/pwd should be sent. Then they should be able to access it.

    Regards,
    Mihir C.

    Hi mihirc

You could ask the guys over at JoomSuite:

    http://joomsuite.com

I’ve used a few of their products myself (although not for this purpose) and they seem quite reliable with good support.

One of their products “JoomSuite Permission” may do the job:

Eventually it happens that you need to restrict access to components for some groups of users or even particular user. But Joomla doesnโ€™t allow doing that. So JoomSuite Permission is a good solution for you. You can arrange access to any action and task of any component for single users and groups of users.

Protection rules were built for components on the base of simple XML file. So you can easily add new rules or delete existent ones. Also you can create a XML for a new component. In that file you can easily define component actions and name them as you wish. You can group those action for easier management later.

Everything that needed is just to write an appropriate XML file. And install it to the component. Because it is URL based it is impossible to do actions that you do not have a permission to perform.

Integration with JoomSuite User allows you to set permission up to every separate user or to a set of users. Using JoomSuite Permission you always know that no one does what they must not to do.

I am using JoomSuite User which is quite flexible, and if it integrates with JoomSuite Permission as they claim, it could do the job.

You can contact the developer of the product or the MD of the company direct from their site by mail, Skype or telephone.

    Good Luck
    Chris
