I am using the sites default user subscription form which is through acymailing, but it is not displaying any confirmation message after a user signs up so they know they are in the list now.

Thanks. There’s another problem involved, at the end of your site, I see a JS call :

<script type="text/javascript">Cufon.now();</script >

which cause a conflict, please temporary remove it and check again.
