The so called userguide is not complete enough to understand, or is it just my inexperience with templates? It recommends using Quickstart instead, which does not seem to work over an existing joomla installation…

Is there a userguide as such, other than the brief installation overview?

    Regards
    Erik

    Hi Erik,

I checked the Urani Userguide forum >> http://www.joomlart.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?10185-JA-Urani-Guides-Tutorials-Tips

The Urani template guide is there but missing screenshots. It would be updated soon again.

It is also obvious that you seem confused. Let me try to help you here.

You already have a joomla site and you wish to update the template to JA Urani and make it look like the demo of JA Urani. However, for this you will have to set the template manually along with the extensions used in the template demo.

The best way to achieve it would be this :

    1. Take backup of your site. If your site has much traffic, then use akeebaBackup for making a clone of your site on your localhost.
    2. Install the template JA Urani on your site.
    3. Now go to download folder of JA Urani and download all the other complimentary extensions (modules / Plugins)
    4. Install them one by one and configure them as per the demo site. You would need to refer to the template userguide for the backend screenshots of configuration for each extension, so as to get a demo site like appearance.

Since, the template userguide is missing the screenshots. You can generate online demo of JA Urani template by clicking on generate Demo on left side this link. Login to backend and check the settings for each extension used, replicate the same and you should be fit to go.

The Quickstart package (in the downloads) is joomla plus our demo content. So, this can be used if you want to start a fresh site from scratch or you can install quickstart on your localhost for reference.
