    Hi,

We have an economy portal and we’d like to use ja wall as an extra feature at our website. So the visitors will basically access the “wall feature” at wall.domain.com. The website will continue working normally with the current template.

I’m sure this is an easy task to do but can someone walk through us so we can purchase the template an implement the idea to our portal?

    Thanks

My understanding, and I’m nowhere near an expert, is that you have two ways to do this. 1 is the classic Joomla way where you can assign menü items/pages to different templates in template manager.

If you want to use quick start to build out Wall and I’d say that may be preferable with it’s complexity, then you can set it on a different domain i.e. sub-domain but then it is a new site in effect with it’s own database. All you need to do there is to assign the menü item that picks Wall content, as an external url, insert the link and then choose “Target Window” as Parent. And do the same with a menü item on Wall to bring it back or use any link in content to bring it back.

Really depends on what you are trying to achieve as to which way you go!

Hope that made some sense for you! 😉

Thanks for your swift reply. It should be working on the same database. Otherwise we need to maintain the content two times so it’s not really what we want to achieve.

First option seems very easy to do but then how can we use quick start to make the installation process less complicated and less time-consuming?

    Thanks

Not sure that you can. Quickstart needs a blank sheet of paper but if you add as a template and then follow the documentation – either off the demo as a menü item or ask here I’m sure you’ll get it how you want. Whatever you do Wall is going to take some time. It’s new, it’s radical and at the moment it’s a bit unknown by everyone……

Check the forum first and see the problems and solutions and if you feel it’s for you. JA offer a money back guarantee so you can always try and if it doesn’t do what you want claim your money back.
