    Is it possible to use japopup to show an mp4 video clip?

    I converted a short video clip from my camera to youtube compatible format (mp4) and uploaded it to my Teline III website and trying to replace a Videos Of The Day youtube video with my local based video.

    I tried using type=”youtube” with my website url to my mp4. Didn’t work at all.

    Tried using type=”iframe” with my website url to my mp4.

    {japopup type=”iframe” content=”http://www.mydomain.com/images/stories/myvideo.mp4″ width=”640″ height=”380″ title=”My Video”}

    Just showed blank popup box, no video.

    Uploading my videos to youtube to be able to display them in japopup seems a silly solution.

    Hoping for some clever syntax.

    To play videos from your local server (site) you should install repspective component or plugin.
    There are a lot on JED. I’m not sure how it would work with JA Pop-Up plugin, but would suggest you to choose a simple plugin (like AllVideos) and to test it on your site.

    You can create a pop up window for your video with JCE and also have full control of this window!!!

    Thanks for the tip. I have used JW AllVideos on another project and I know it is much for flexible the JA PopUp. I don’t understand why JA can’t upgrade theirs, yet showcase it with Teline III.

    Thanks also for the JCE code edit pointer. I have JCE as my editor, and use it a lot to customise my layout, but I find I can’t edit {japopup} code to get what I want. Looks like a non-JA plugin like AllVideos is the way forward.

    You can disable {japopup} for the article or module you want the pop up to work with JCE pop up and continue or you can disable the japopup and use an other plugin you can find many at the JED

    Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that.

    Looking into the JCE option, I see there are many addon extensions that can help me. The JCE MediaBox looks ideal too.

    I thought JCE was just a very good content editor, but has more excellent features.

    Thanks for pointing me that way.
