Wow, I am stunned by the photography! Very beautiful indeed. It would be helpful to have it in english but even without it still is just so nice to browse through. The load times are a bit long but WELL worth the short wait!

March 28, 2010 at 9:01 am #338090Thank you, I’m working on Google translate sothat it would be readable in English, Afrikaans is still new to Google translate – when you’re not using textbook Afrikaans it doens’t translate that well. ๐
March 30, 2010 at 7:07 pm #338491I wish I could read whatever language that site uses, looks really nice, great job!

Congratulations!.
The home page takes a while to load, but it looks splendid, as do the contents.
Nice to see such good work.On a side note – Is that google translate? its interesting to see how the technology for automatic translations is improving.

Yes it is indeed Google Translate. Afrikaans is new to Google so I think it will improve even more with time, it translate well to Dutch for instance. You can see Google translate at work here as well. ๐

April 21, 2010 at 8:00 pm #341117I am currently building a site with JA Lead using two Joomla Installs, two templates etc, since JoomFish is so badly documented, i have always had problems with it and with regards Googles option i was still relying on impressions i had from when it was released. It might have saved me a great deal of work, although perhaps its not quite at a level yet where it can replace human translation, but it is very much improved and it might just get to that point. I like the way they use human nput to correct the translation of specific phrases. Its a great concept.
lol, i can see that it might be lagging a little with Afrikkaans.@annaleen 175513 wrote:
Thank you for your kind comment, I need to spend time on the slide-show to see if I can improve the loading time, maybe load the new version. May 17, 2010 at 7:13 am #343789About Google translate; the translations from English to Afrikaans is very good, but not the other way round because of slang and a few other reasons like long words. I wouldn’t hesitate if I had an English site to use Google translate.
An easy way to determine if an article will translate is to translate it to arbabic, yedish, chinese or similar R to L language and if a word doesn’t translate it stands out.
Another point people sometimes miss when they try and translate to Afrikaans and I assume other languages is that some phrases are better in English than the translated language when it comes to computer, internet and technical phrases, we don’t want that translated keep it English.
Good luck!

November 6, 2010 at 12:49 pm #361819I’m a newbie around here, but I sooo want to do that types of websites! That one is sooo cool! Congrats!!รง
I love itNovember 8, 2010 at 6:22 pm #361972That was a cool blog, I’m a newbie as well but I’m learning and hopefully I will be able to make something equal to yours soon. The blue colors with shadows are nice but I especially liked when the pictures just popped up one by one.
November 12, 2010 at 10:14 pm #362676Blog has a really nice look and great concept, love those pictures. ๐
November 17, 2010 at 1:21 am #363091So true. I love the look of the site and the Carousel that was used for the pics. I like the mirror images that it shows beneath. I did look up one sentence of what your site says using Google translate.
Getuienis uit die natuur = Evidence from Nature
Not sure how correct that is, but it gave me a better understanding of your site just by knowing that. Google translate first thought that your site’s language was Dutch, but then I switched it to Afrikaans and it gave me the rest of the translation. ๐
December 3, 2010 at 3:45 pm #365222very nice blog. Eng version please ๐
