All the menus are not working. We have to go again to each menu item, open it and save it again.5. Logo size
The logo is still not resized proper. Its shrinked or strechted.6. Filter Jobs module
Salary still shows $, but i have changed it in backend to another currency7. Job list

The category field is far to small.9. Job post
Employer cant decide if he wants to be contacted via mail or on the site via application.10. Privacy

well i guess its a massive component, but we also pay a massive amount for this compared to other solutions for joomla which have the same or sometimes more features. Therefore, the end user could expect a better support and faster response, that makes your clients happy.
Now it seems i have to wait for another version again. The most issues have been already posted for the last version and are not solved in the current.
Please, give me your advise, what should i, as a customer do? I dont want to be the board bi*ch who is posting the whole time, but i think you could understand me from my point of view.So before i can go on, i need to know when these essentinal things are going to be solved. I cant imagine that im the only one.

September 3, 2009 at 1:39 pm #316264I completle agree algmed, there are soem major issue that have not been fixed. I think JA puts out GREAT products, but the support can be a bit of a pain. One suggestion i made….and they said it would be “considered” was a search plugin. Most of all the main comp. out there have a search plugin that allows the core joomla to search JA job board, so that we can take advantage of all the great search modeules and coms out there. This would allow us to search from the home page. I also isntalled a hack on my site that allows auto regestration and right after the user hits register it takes them straight to the update my info page. I think this shold of been included in the core comp. If any would like this let me know…ill post it.

September 3, 2009 at 1:53 pm #316267Dear beastmode54
I’m sitting in the same boat as you, algmed and many others. I would pretty much appreciate to get your hack. I suggested earlier in the forum to have a separated login for jobseekers and employers (like any other job site has) to simplify the process of registering.beastmode54 JA JobBoardbeastmode54

September 3, 2009 at 2:08 pm #316268ok..so here is the Hack for the Auto Reg. The file that you will need to edit is components/com_user/controller.php make sure you make a copy beore you start. The code is around line 289. Comment this line out $this->setRedirect(‘index.php, $message); To do this place // before the code and // after it. Then right under this paste the following code in.
$this->setRedirect(‘index.php’, $message);
$usersipass[‘username’] = $user->get(‘username’);
$usersipass[‘password’] = $password;
$mainframe->login($usersipass);
$mainframe->redirect( ‘index.php?option=com_jajobboard&view=jausergroup&Itemid=70’ );
The part in red you will have to change. You van get this by going in as a user who hasnt picked a title yet..ie seeker or employer. Put the address starting with index.php and on. Make sure its put ibto the single quotes.
let me know if it works for you or not.
Oh and on the joomla global congig make sure that the the use doesnt not get sent the activation email.

September 4, 2009 at 7:32 pm #316394Hi everyone,
The new version 1.2.1 has been released 1 hour ago with some bug fixed reported in the 1st & 6th post of this thread.
@algmed There are some clarifications on your reported issues related to the 1.2.1 release as well as my latest investigation s
1. While uninstall the component and modules im receiving error that en.ini (dont remember the exact file, but i guess you know it) files are not deleted
2. During installation of the new Job component im receiving more errors:
FIXED:
* [JAJB-76] – When uninstall component does not delete the language file en-GB.com_jajobboard.ini4. Menu
All the menus are not working. We have to go again to each menu item, open it and save it again.We can not reproduce the issues, if the problem still exists in 1.2.1 then please let me know.
5. Logo size
The logo is still not resized proper. Its shrinked or strechted.On my checking, this feature is not supported at 1.2.0 as well as 1.2.1. We will try to support this feature in a “New features Release”, 1.2.1 is just bug fix release. It take sometime on the job 🙂
6. Filter Jobs module
Salary still shows $, but i have changed it in backend to another currencyFIXED
* [JAJB-81] – Time and date format consistent via admin configuration & frontend7. Job list
It still shows the agentsname as employer and NOT the company.As the current design of system, it displays the username of the poster in the job list. We will consider providing more flexibility for this option in future release. For the time being, you can turn off this column via Admin >> Design & Customization >> Field List Customization where you can customize the display of Jobs/ Profile/ Resumes / Applications page layouts as well
8. Posting Job
The category field is far to small.This is totally configurable, go to Admin >> Design & Customization >> Forms Customization >> Select Job Form on the filter + click on Job Category then you can set the Width + Height parameter for this element. See the attached image below for more information

September 5, 2009 at 8:14 am #316444Hello Hung,
i have created a new thread to 1.2.1. But let me give some words on your reply:

Im sorry, but i didnt came across any jobsite where the “employer” or “agents name” is on the job list. It shows everywhere the company which is important. Not the guy whos posting it.
Also i cant remove this section as the visitor have to know which company is behind this job without clicking on the job first. This needs to be fixed immediatly.Privacy
It would be so easy for you guys to create a radio button in profile section of the employer:
Show my email adress: Yes/No
Fix needed.So right now i even cant test 1.2.1 as you read in my other post. And its Weekend again so i think i have to wait for a couple of days…

Sorry algmed, I thought you are asking for the auto resize image feature. For a quick fix, go to
root/component/com_jajobboard/views/jajobs/tmpl/javiews.phpSearch for the following code and remove the hard fixed width + height of the images
(width=”100″ height=”100″)
<td width="20%">
<?php if ($this->profile->logo){?>
<img class="co-img" width="100" height="100" name='company_logo' alt='Logo' src="<?php echo JURI::base().$this->profile->logo?>" />
<?php } else {?>
<?php } ?>
</td>
The purpose of putting width=”100″ height=”100″ is to make sure the logo will be well scaled to 100px if users try to upload a bigger logo images.
In the 1.2.2 release this will be fixed and we will consider adding the image validation feature to validate the image field of any form (eg: job posting form) so that employer will not be allowed to upload a logo bigger than 150px….
