Hmm, PLEASE HELP ME!
I’ve lusted for Teline for a couple of years. So when I read you updated it, I purchased it. I never dreamt you have outdated info, with bits and pieces scattered on the forum. I’ve licensed a lot of themes from various companies, and never run into so many issues.
Your layout is dependent upon your extensions, but you don’t explain how to use them. I need to update this site ASAP and losing valuable time because contrary to your promo, this is very confusing. I’m not a newbie to Joomla either!
Do you have Teline III documentation, showing REAL settings? Teline III module info says to layout out like a news portal, but instructions link to Teline II.
AND THE SETTINGS AND IMAGES ARE MISSING in the Teline II documentation. It says “here are the settings, it should look like this,” and there’s NOTHING. NO settings, no images. And outdated theme info. Huh?
Here’s my problems so far:
–JA News Frontpage Module in the content-top, layout style telineiii_fp.php:
Why are the first two lines of every story displayed? I only want the titles, and then the lines show up, only one story at a time, when someone mouses over it. That’s the way it works on the demo, but not my site.
–Also, the line spacing on my site is HUGE, but not on the demo. I want less space above and beneath each title/article. Esp in the JA News Frontpage Module.
BUT if I enable the JA News 2 Module, then the spacing is fine! BUT JA News works better than News 2. News shows up, not News 2. Huh?
–Why do my articles show up in the middle of the page too? I’ve tried getting rid of them, but the whole page disappears.
–Why are my stories repeated beneath the JA News Frontpage Module? How can I control them so they are ONLY showing on the top OR bottom OR in-between. Right now, my stories are repeated in all THREE places.
–How/where to delete the “LAST UPDATED” code on bottom of my articles? I’ve turned it off in Article parameters, but it’s still showing up. Where is it coded? Which code do I delete?
–I wrote earlier because I CANNOT ACTIVATE/MODIFY the menu/page colors. ALL my pages look the same. I spent SIX hours searching here and throughout the site. JUST to activate something which should be a default re the type colors and NO instructions how to put my info where I want it.
I read it has something to do with ID, but which ID? On the menu listing or in the Sections listing? There’s LOTS of IDs in Joomla (as in any database).
–Where do I put that color codes, once I determine it? Where/how can I change the colors if I wish?
–Why doesn’t READ MORE include the file name, when I’ve typed in in the field for each article?
–Twitter: at one point, live Tweets were showing up, but from JA. I changed to my name and password, and now only the link is working. Where are my live Tweets?
–I installed a sample file so I could refer to your default settings, but even then it’s been impossible to figure these things out.
–How to move SHARE button to TOP of articles, not bottom?
I look forward to resolving these issues ASAP so I can build my site. That’s when the fun begins!
Thanks in advance. Tip: why don’t you write CURRENT documentation which covers these BASIC issues? I’m just trying to set up my site like yours. I specifically chose this theme so I would not have to tinker with CSS. After two years of a lot of tweaking themes, this is extremely disappointing.
Looking forward to your help so I can move on! I teach people how to do basic Joomla sites and would love to recommend you IF these issues are resolved quickly. They shouldn’t be hard to the folks who wrote this, right?
thanks,

December 21, 2009 at 7:15 pm #327125Thanks Micrantha. But how could I miss something I could not find? NO link with the themplate (OLD links in the template itself and nothing downloaded, not a txt file with the link, not in the demo, nowhere) and didn’t show up in repeated searches.
NO answer in the documention re MOST of my questions.
JOOMLART PEOPLE: PLEASE HELP ME. You don’t want me to Twit or Facebook MY COLLEAGUES and tell them of my ordeal, do you???
SHAME ON YOU Joomlart for NOT including link in with the download or easy to find here.
I DID WHAT IT SAID RE COLORS AND NOT WORKING. I must have done something wrong, but I don’t know what it was.
WHY are my articles appearing THREE times on the front page?
Frontpage Module: why are the story lines appearing under the titles? I DID what it said to do.
NO Twitter info, how to delete Last Updated coding, etc.
I STILL NEED SPECIFIC HELP.
When I license a theme, I don’t expect it to be this difficult. As I wrote, I am not a newbie.
IF a theme requires advanced programming knowledge, then Joomlart has the LEGAL and BUSINESS obligation to either indicate that or MORE HELP.
A company cannot grow and survive in this online age if it provides products with shoddy documentation!
IF a theme is this difficult, INDICATE IT. Don’t go on and on about all the great features and HOW EASY IT IS TO USE.
Have a nice day and thanks in advance.

Install JA News II module, and publish it, than you would be able to control menu colors trough this module…
if you install and use this module following instructions on the link that micrantha posted, you might resolve some other issues too..
good luck.

December 21, 2009 at 8:28 pm #327132Hello Jenny,
It is indeed not a very easy template: see all questions on this forum, extremely so after first publication. But in between a lot of issues are cleared. And there is a manual. And, above all, there is a Quickstart package. With that you can get acqainted with specific properties of this complicated template. It is complicated because it has so many options and functions, and it is the first JA-template with a template framework.
But it takes time; it is not just a matter of installing a new template, changing some module-positions and ready. You have to prepare your update, and only publish it after solving main issues.
I think most questions you pose are posted and anwered already on this forum.
Try to get help on precise questions, not too many at a time, and show that you searched the forum.good luck,
Micrantha -
