I’ve been trying to get this working for quite a while (ever since Joomla 1.7 release) and it still does not.
On my test site I am unable to get vertical menu (i.e. left side of site) slide out menus (submenus) to work. This problem exists in both IE8 and 9 as well as Firefox 6 and 7. (I havent tried other browsers)
The small arrows that indicate there should be a sub-menu there are present but the menu doesnt pop out. Also of note, to the left of every menu item I see what looks like a bullet point (like a bullet point list) which is not there in 1.6.
The test site is using:
Joomla 1.7.1 (previously 1.7)
JAT3 1.3.3 (tried all previous versions that work with joomla 1.7 also)
JAPurity II (8/24 release)On my “live” site I still have Joomla 1.6 and the sub menus work perfectly there.

Have you gone through and made sure all JA products are updated using the Joomlart Extension manager? sometimes the site is behind the udpater. Joomla natively does not support slideout vertical menu’s, its always been a template feature or addon, of which there are many.
September 29, 2011 at 11:37 pm #415767They components are up to date according to the JA Extension Manager.
Also, I am using JAPurity II which is also a JA item. That is also updated.
I do not know for sure if the issue is with JAT3 or JAPurity II. The slide out menus are part of the deal with that template and always worked on Joomla 1.6. They just will not work on any version of JA software on Joomla 1.7.

October 27, 2011 at 11:23 pm #422026I have a similar need for a vertical flyout or suckerfish menu. Was your issue fixed? If so, how?

November 4, 2011 at 5:00 pm #423242Any update on this? I just upgraded my test site to Joomla 1.7.2, JAT3 1.4.0 and JA Purity II 1.2.0 and it has the exact same issue as the previous versions did.
