October 6, 2008 at 9:26 pm #134080Hi Support,
I have a problem that drives me nuts. I got my brand new site one week ago. Very fast loading, almost instantly…after one week and only 3-4 new articles I got a very slow loadin homepage and other menus. I enabled cache, no change at all. I tried to disable de hot topic menu and video…loads a little bit faster. Can these two modules been cached? they have no option in admin backend to set cache to yes. I added this code in specific xml file from the module folder:
<param name=”cache” type=”radio” default=”0″ label=”Enable Cache” description=”Select whether to cache the content of this module”>
<option value=”0″>No</option>
<option value=”1″>Yes</option>
</param>but nothing changed…
There must be a post in wich all users that use a teline 2 website with only one colour, fixed modules, etc… should see what settings to do to speed up their site; something like deleting certain unnecesary rows from css file(not useing all the colors), how to compress their css(never understood what css compresion is, how to remove that gifs from css), how to format their pictures, how to mantain a multimedia site with some advanced lazy modules(teline has hot topic, video and user 6 tabs, it must be fast, I vizited a teline 2 website that was working fine and fast).
How to cache one single fixed HOT TOPIC menu that appears only in certain menu pages? How to load faster this module so that it doesn’t slow down the pages in which it’s published? The same things with video module…pls..?
How to stop that stupid footer that gathers info from a bunch of php and css and other xml files over my public_php folder?
..etc…, you sure know all the stupid things that slow up the teline 2 website, let’s write here in this post all the settings that should be made for a decent loading teline 2 website
Good luck to you all!
And yes, I’m desperate, my site is loading so slooow: medicalstudent.ro PLS HELP!!!

October 7, 2008 at 11:54 am #274085In my cpanel admin, error log, i get 2errors
File does not exist: /home/……./public_html/404.shtml
File does not exist: /home/……./public_html/templates/ja_teline_ii/css/editor.cssThat can cause a slow down? I see that my source file is 48kb big, is it to big? In the homepage source file is a line that commands that css/editor.css…

October 7, 2008 at 4:54 pm #274107Not sure this will help as I’m not a huge Joomla expert 🙂
Without realizing, I had Legacy mode enabled – when I disabled this, my site sped up considerably. I also have gzip page compression enabled. With respect to 404, I corrected anything that required an absolute reference (not just a Teline issue, highslide is known for this one!).

October 7, 2008 at 7:05 pm #274126My site is faster with the previous template while more features appear.
And when I want to speed analysis of the pages, my site is very well classified as only a few pages seem analyzed.andreipopel Friendandreipopel

October 22, 2008 at 8:37 am #276564Problem with this template is that I can’t analyze pages
October 22, 2008 at 9:14 am #276568I think it has something to do with the JA News and the JA News Frontpage modules: when I upload a new article, it appears immediately in the right category (when I click on that category), but it takes 5 to 10 minutes !!!!!! to appear in the headline module and to be visible in the categorymodule on the frontpage.
But at the moment its also very slow when I work on other modules. Does anyone know if there is another template like this with less troubles?andreipopel Friendandreipopel

October 22, 2008 at 10:07 am #276573no, that’s only cache, clear cache and you’ll see the changes you made, even new artcles instantly. if you do not clear the cache it will be cleared in 5-15 minutes or the time you set up in the config for clearing cache
there still remains the slow loading pages, anybody help?
October 22, 2008 at 11:04 am #276578i’am sorry, but it’s not the cache; i disabled the cache.

October 22, 2008 at 8:48 pm #276631seems that joomlart is in vacancy, have some nice bugs there in the bug report and in this post it’s more than obvious that users have problems with slow loading pages and high response time of their teline 2 site after 2-3 new articles added after the install…nobody gives even a small chance, offering a small hope that this loading problem could be resolved
