Hi,
I set my cache time to : 60 minutes, and almost once a week I tried to clean all pictures / files / modules that I didn’t use it, re arrange all the articles / modules number, doing the global check in / clean the cache from tools menu when made lot’s of changes, tried to compressed css and javascript and all the pictures into smallest size, make it sure all the menus number, articles, pictures etc and anything related to each menus & submenus is in the correct path and folders has assign, go to control panel Clear Files Usage Cache from Disk Usage Viewer, go to myphp admin select my database and check them all from the menus : check the table, analyze the table, and optimize the table, then I am going to my joomla site viewed one by one all my menus and some articles to make new cache after doing all above mentioned. Many things, I am doing anything…
Teline II is very very slow before, even not that fast, but the site is run faster than before, I am doing anything has posted in teline bugs & all JA forum. And still keep on looking to make it faster as beginners, I have the same problems guys….or maybe, my site is not as big as you have, any correction or any advice that would be appreciate. Just trying to share my hard days and says …. it’ll be fine …. it’s okay …..loved this Teline II, Wanna wait for the 3rd??? I have too …
I am sure JA will give us the NEW TELINE as Hung did to NEW JA Sanidine….be patient….(:andreipopel Friendandreipopel

Hi Andreipopel,
I am not experties, just read and learned from any forums, then handled with carefully the installation.
Using Teline II.V1.6 with the quickstart on Joomla 1.5.7, at the moment there is no additional Component & Plugins but : Flipping Book 1.5.5, JomComment 3.0.1, RWCards 3.0.11, Section Ex 1.5.0.13.d, Google Gears Support plugins 1.0.1, mod Daily Message 1.0, mod Vinaora Visitors Counter, mod Counter GD and everything what comes up with teline.after 3 times failed, then just realize, it should be from the beginning, make sure everything get ready before the installation, till I know what i’m doing, because doing lot’s of changes in the air already another story & another new problems comes up. But sometimes the problems will not be the same. Who don’t know much & don’t know where to start, just beginners for lovely teline and joomla, too bad, based on true story, but with this story, I wish the JA expertias will read then give some helps by correct me when I’m doing wrong, so I still got the changes to to save my website, my lovely teline, that would be appreciated. So, this is what I did, that I think what made my site little bit faster than before….
– Preparation has done, then Unzip teline II, unzip the quickstart package.
Open the all the images folders, changes all the folders names suite to my new website (I always have a problem with the permission setting at times need deleting or changing anything after installation on my server, so I did it earlier before do the installation) put all my images inside each folders with the smallest size it can gets with fireworks compression/photoshop. Let say for the size like H300p W300px, I made 8kb up to 30kb without enlarging the picture more than the size has set, but is also depend to the color graphics & resolution needs, the more colourful/highres the more bigger, the size will be higher.– Always saved all the articles only with simple text editor. Copy & paste from another browser or word application will always brings another css codes inside joomla text editor, they are invisible, only from the Edit HTML Source from the joomla text editor we can see the additional css codes who modified the layout, pictures position also teline font. Unbelieveable!
– Add another new folders/pictures, I never do it from the joomla back end, always from Cpanel or FTP, the same problems with the permission setting, will set to 99, weird, means, difficult to make any changes/deleting anything from ftp or through jomla later, well, sure it can by contacting 24/7 support who is always there for help, just no need to wait if we do correctly,…is apache security server system problem, but its fine not as worsed at godaddy’s, too secure I guess, the answer can be the next hours or days. Crazy! I moved to very nice server and cool people now, with my up to 384kbps Internet speed, is painful…..
– I Never did the installation of any additional components/modules or plugins from my desktop will facing the same problem with the permission settings later, I always upload the zip files first to the temporary folder (tmp) on my joomla installation and use : Install from Directory from joomla back end when doing the installation,
– Installation
Zipped back the quickstart package, upload to my server, start the 1st from the 3rd heart beat of my lovely teline installation. Works just fine. Corrected of any path and addres of the articles, pictures and etc. had changed during the preperation. Delete all files, modules and component I did not use. I am not using other template but teline so I delete them, just keep it one free template for just incase.Compressing
– Search files with the extension : *.js from any folders and go to : Dean Edwards (http://dean.edwards.name/packer/) do the compression over there, open files that I want to shrink, copy it then paste into the window packager, next click pack. the results is cool, as sample : before : highslide-full.js – 88kb – after : highslidefull.js – 39k, means a lot for my teline.
if they have the same size, just live it, this compression will leave not any single space at all inside the script after packed. Leave it alone for the files that I am not so sure, backup all the files before packed the script, it is useful when something going wrong or make some changes to the code I can replace with the original one, I dont know if its JA already taking care of it before give it to us right now.– Configuration,
Set my .htacces, set permission setting for cache folders and tmp to 777 on my joomla installation. From joomla back end, enabling GZIP compression. Set all of SEO Settings to : Yes, the right keywords also helps our website to be found, Turn off all admin & user WYSIWYG Editor to : No Editor this made admin/back end worked faster also made some script code won’t work on html/with editor mode, just turn it on whenever it needs, also I Installed additional add ons for my browser with Google Gears who speed up my joomla back end and run faster than before, Turn on Cache Settings to : Yes, set the Cache time to 60m, coz 15m can make my server (is my second core) worked harder, just feel not good for all of us (me, server, joomla & visitors haha), tis not necessary to do that unless you have daily time articles editing schedules, but 90m bit too long, but is good too because joomla always made wrong/over calculation about who’s online number, absolutly, so 90 will helps, got this information at joomla forum, but some people says didn’t work. But I did that. I am not using any cache component. Maybe not yet,– Lot’s of changes has done, I re-ordering all the articles numbers sequentially, sometime the number is jumped, just click the small disk icon next to Order in the Article manager which is avoid as much as possible insert external links. I did the same thing to all Menus, Section, Category, Frontpage, Modules and Plugins manager, sometimes some component did not arrange the numbers automatically, they need to be adjusted, it happend once from one of my components.
– Click the Global Check-in from Joomla Tools, and Clear Cache let joomla system read new data so I can see all the new changes has made. Go to cpanel, set anything that that I need, Optimize Website from Advanced tools and just click Compress the specified MIME types, Click all and chose Clear File Usage Cache from Disk Usage Viewer menu to clear the disk space usage values from the screen after check many files from this utilities, make back up my MySQL Databases, go to my phpMyAdmin, select my teline database, go to the bottom of the page, click check all, perform action with this selected then from the dropdown menu click Analyze Tabel, maybe I did more than that, and I am very sure that there is many valuable resources up there that I don’t know yet, that I need to find out and learn for more, and I don’t know how to fix my website layout position when using IE 5,6 or 7, that’s not nice…
Hope this story will help you decided what to do and for more information please find here, I feel sleepy now:
