    Hi.

    Some visitors have reported that my website loads very slow. I´ve checked some online speed tests of the site and it needs 14 seconds (!)

    I think it must be something with the compresion (CSS and JS) but I don´t know wich option is faster or if I should do anything else.

    My web site is http://www.campodolobo.com/escenario/

    Thanks

    Hi raulmvega,

    To get the site loaded faster I think you should turn on both optimize css and js in the template back-end, you can also consider to apply cloud computing service for your site, there are some joomla extensions that can help you on that, one is our Ja Amazon S3 here http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/extensions/ja-amazon-s3

    And which option should I select (Join, Join and minify or Join and minify and compress? Any tip more?

    Hey Raul
    maybe you should look at reducing the file size of your images first compress and minify don’t do a lot for image size
    looking at the images you have:

    botsl_bg.gif =300kb
    logo.png = 98 kb
    slideshow images about 100 kb each
    several 50 k smaller images call it 900 k for the page as I think the slideshow images may pre load.

    I’ve used Fireworks to reduce all the major graphics for you. I’ve managed to reduce 900k to 240k without loss of quality
    replace the existing stuff with these, empty your sites ‘resized folder’ via ftp or cpanel file manager (it will show old slideshow images until you do) and while the performance increase on broadband may be slight you KNOW it’s not because of your large graphic content and slow connections will benefit
