I am guessing that on your old site you had the All Videos plugin installed. Simply putting those tags into Joomla will not work unless you have a player that can parse those tags.

This is probably the one you had – http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/multimedia/multimedia-players/video-players-a-gallery/812

Yeah, but on another site that i was working on yesterday i performed the same operation. in fact i downloaded Popup from the extensions here and used the code for that plug in and it wouldn’t work. yesterday i was working on a Joom 2.5 site with a template,JA Graphite, and used all videos and used the code that works for that plug in and had no problems. in fact I had six videos on one page and experienced no problems.

    In sum:
I tried all video with the code for that plug in and it didn’t work

i tried the video player from here and the code that relates to that plug in and it only works if you go to the full article that is on another page.

I am trying to have the article as a featured article that appears on the home page and will play on the home page and will also play if they choose to read the full article.

Ok I tried a couple of different things and the only way the video will appear and play is if you read the full article. I am going to try and upload the video to the site and see if it will work without having to go to an outside source. WOW!!! Something is wrong with this template.

Just switch to a default Joomla template to test your code. Also, if you could PM me an admin logon I would be happy to investigate.

all the codes are good to go and the plug ins are good too. The problem seems to be with the template. As stated earlier the video should be playing or ready to play once the page is loaded. There shouldn’t be a need to leave that page to play the video. The way I have it setup right now it is with an image and then you have to go to the full article, which is on another page to play the video. I will PM you a super user account. Thanks

Ok just PM you. I have set up two videos. On one of them i used All videos. On the other i used Popup. The name of the articles are called “Z-RO Tell Me What You See” and the other is called “ClChe is the Queen of Houston”. Again the videos should be able to be played on the home page. As you can see the there is no image video being loaded.

Unfortunately, your site is showing as dead for me. I cannot see it at all neither the front end or the back end. Is it a new site as maybe the DNS hasn’t made it as far as Ireland yet.

    Yep, that works.

Where on the page exactly are you trying to put your video?

They are supposed to be on the home page. when the site loads up its on that first page right under the big graphic. there are three boxes that are empty. In the previous post i wrote the name of the articles that can be located in the articles manager. The name of the articles are also located on top of the blank boxes on the first page.

Ah, so in the JA Sidenews modules. There we have a little limitation. You can have the text in those making a popup but you cannot put video in those modules. They are a special type of module with the foreground being and overlay over the image in the background. As a result the image is not actually clickable, just the overlay which links to the article or you can place links in the text.
