November 26, 2009 at 2:08 pm #146376Maybe it would be very helpful, specially for newbies to Joomlart users (like me), if there would be video tutorials available showing step-by-step how you’ve created your demo sites.
Seen this on other template club sites 🙂
Kind regards from Switzerland
Stefan

December 1, 2009 at 9:50 am #325363Hello Stefan!
I think that you should create a new demo site with the quickstart package.
And then you create your site with the clean joomla packpage.YOu install module by module and only make configuration of the module same as the quick start site,

Have you tried workign your way through one of the many books out there? i found this one very usefull – http://www.wikio.co.uk/books/joomla-for-dummies-9780470432877-784455,b.html
March 3, 2010 at 5:51 pm #334691Thanks for the post . I’ve been working my way through Joomla for dummies but It helps to have a different perspective on things.Especially since i’ve been bouncing around between drupal and joomla trying to pick one to “master” for about a month now. I’ve found a lot of valuable posts by doing a search on tutorials on this forum. shannonN had a really good thread on tutorials
thanks again

The biggest problem with book based Joomla tutorials and the OP’s request is this is a request for JA templates using the new T3 system from JA, all the books out there don’t discuss this unique to JA system, so in the way of module activations/removals customisation they cover the traditional methods.
The OP wants to learn the T3 system I think rather than how to use the admin user manager etc etc which are generally the type covered by books and the tutorials I posted ages ago as member ShannonN
I know there is a wiki on the T3 system but there needs to be more as it’s a bit harder to fathom than the more straight forward edit the template.css for 90% of everything approach
Just my thoughts

This is very true Hengstler. I have found that majority of people who come across a Jaomlart.com like me absolutely need a tutorial. I am always on the go  but hey my browsing experience is not done yet.Further more simonturner thank you so very much fo the link i find it to be very use full and 😀 answer my question immediately

March 6, 2010 at 9:36 pm #335140Hey guys… question from a joomla noob…
Moving from WP to Joomla (familiar with html css etc)… I want to get up to speed as fast as possible…
Do you think my money would be better spent on a VTC Lynda type course, or books… Somehow I find that courses (VTC Lynda style) are easier for me to understand since they also demonstrate in front of you and also have practice files. But I’d like to know the opinions of some people… especially if you moved from WP to Joomla like me.
Thanks a bunch…
April 2, 2010 at 1:43 am #338828I have an opportunity to take a class in Joomla that my company is offering. What should I read to get up to speed as fast as possible?
Thank you.
May 3, 2010 at 9:58 pm #342544I wish there is a video but Joomla tutorial is still appreciated!!!

May 4, 2010 at 12:32 am #342552IMHO, Joseph LeBlanc has the best Learning Joomla books out there, hands down!. Those books were the definite turning point for me.
If I only had 20 bucks left for food… I’d still go and buy a book from this guy! 😀 lolPeace,
