June 1, 2007 at 4:04 am #221288Hi
You have to create the content and/or categories under Content in the Joomla admin. If you want a section called Special offers you must first make it Go to Content>Section Manager and click on new. Fill in all the info that you may need (usually just Title and Section Name) then click save.
Next go to Content>Category Manager and click new. Do the same here. Then finally go to Content>All content articles and click new. You will do the same here except you are going to assign this article to that catagory and section you just created in the drop down box to the right of the title field. You can add images on this screen by typing in {mosimage} for each image you want to add and then clicking the images tab and selecting an image from the available folders. I like to align mine to the left of the text.
Hope this helps.June 1, 2007 at 1:58 pm #221331Hi and thanks for your reply.
I’ve tried your suggestion but it is not quite what I had in mind.
This will create content that can will shown on the homepage, however, the content doesnt behave the way I’d want it to.Let me explain.
The content becomes like the newsflash on my page : one bullet point with the title i’d set and when you click on it, it opens a new page with the description and image in it.
What I want is instead of a bullet point, to have the description of the product and an image of the product showing, and when the user clicks on it, to be taken to the actual product page, where the user can buy the product, just like it is in the demo of Villadi.
Is there a way to do that?
Thanks for your time

June 1, 2007 at 6:36 pm #221337Hi
I don’t use Villadi, but I took a look at the demo and I don’t see any product listings. Are you talking about the server packages showing at the top of the screen?June 1, 2007 at 9:49 pm #221347Thanks for your reply,
indeed I looked at the demo and I didnt see the products. Then I realised its the Software version that had them.
I am talking about the products as shown in the red square in my attachment.
You can see them in detail in the software version of the Villadi demo. Thanks

June 2, 2007 at 1:46 am #221358Hi
That is indeed the Ja-news module, and if you want it to look like that you will need to install and publish it and then add the content like I stated before. What you have published on your site right now is the Virtuemart featured produts module.
If you want it to link directly to the product page instead of linking to the news article, you will need to disable the “linked titles” option in the content configuration, and make your own title in the description field and make it a link to your product.I am working on video tutorials for xenia II shopping that will show how to do this, but it won’t be for a few days. You can check the available tutorials HERE
Although xenia II shopping has nothing to do with Villadi, this aspect of it does.June 2, 2007 at 3:26 am #221370Thanks for your help. I will try the tutorials and post the results!
Take care
