    Hello,

It has been awhile since I came here. I wanted to know if Joomlart has any plans to create an e-Commerce template using the most recent VirtueMart 2.0.2 which is compatible with Joomla 2.5. This may persuade me to renew my membership. This should be within a month or so. Otherwise, I have to consider other options.

Right now, I am using the old template, way back in 2009? or earlier using the Joomla 1.5 compatible version VirtueMart 1.9.x. It is OK but limited. I am sure it is possible to customize Joomla 2.5 and one of the existing Joomlart templates but I do not have time for that right now.

    Thanks.

There are several VirtueMart Theme Developers out there who, in my opinion, create some pretty decent store themes for VirtueMart – that can be utilized with any Joomla/VirtueMart site (depending on version compatibility, of course). Two that I would recommend are . . . .

    POWERED BY VIRTUEMART

    and

    YAGENDOO

ALSO, should you wish to further research the Joomla+VirtueMart route, I would highly recommend taking some time to look through the VIRTUEMART EXTENSION DIRECTORY [/B]– especially through the VM THEMES and OTHER FOR VM [/B]listings. (NOTE/TIP: The latest/newest additions are usually at the end … so, as a tip, what I usually do is click to the last page of the listings and view going backwards).

As a side note/thought . . . a little time, patience and focus can go a very long way.

    Thanks Tom,

I looked at the templates awhile back. There were some templates that I liked, but they did not have support forums. But those were for the Joomla 1.5 compatible. For the more recent Joomla 2.5 compatible (as well as backward compatible), I like the licensing agreement of the VirtueMart VM Template best only $69 for multiple domains with free updates. I wish Joomlart adopt similar terms. like this and Joomlaworks, rather than the usual one year contract. I am not interested with 104 templates. I only use one or two since I used the Joomlart templates.

While I like the many new features of the VirtueMart VM template is that it seems I have to start from scratch from the basic demo template. If I have the time, I would do it, but I would rather prefer a more well-developed template, like those prepared by Joomlart and modify it from the sample template.

This is the reason why I posted this. I wonder if Joomlart has any plans to develop an e-commerce template using the lates version of VirtueMart. If Joomlart does not have any plans to do it in a month or two, then I would look elsewhere. Kindly relay this to Hung or whoever makes the decisions.

    N.B.

One step towards this should have been a update of the JA Mesolite II to Joomla 2.0.x, and perhaps to go further and change the VirtueMart to version 2.0
