March 14, 2008 at 12:23 pm #126595Hello 🙂
I have a Papayl account but don’t know how to set up Virtuemart so when a customer click checkout goes to the PP page for entering your Visa/Mastercard or login to PP.
I’ve tried different settings but it allways just does to the normal PP login page.I want to try sell a digital download… so after purchase the customer should get a download link to the file.
Does someone have some info (tutorial) on how this works? :-*
BTW: hurray for all new 1.5 templates 🙂
Best regards

Have you researched this issue on the VirtueMart website? I know that VirtueMart allows for digital downloads, and given that it’s an ecommerce application, I would think that there is information available for how to configure it with PayPal.
My suggestion would be to check the VirtueMart Forums – especially under the “Payment Modules” section(s) and see if you can elicit some assistance there.
Good Luck !!!

March 16, 2008 at 12:52 pm #242320Just a thought… Maybe consider another e-commerce solution. I wonder if iJooml’s “DigiStore” would work better for you (http://www.ijoomla.com/ijoomla-digistore/ijoomla-digistore/index/). It does not seem as intensive to setup as virtuemart and it is specifically for digital downloads.

lonnstrom: thanks.. but since Larix allready has a nice impletation of Virtuemart i like to use that.
I just don’t know how to configure it… it should be quite straight forward entering your Paypal e-mail address but for some reason it ends up on the normal Paypal login page instead of the one were you can choose to pay with Visa etc.tcraw1010: thanks.. i’ll ask there and see what respons i can get there.
The wierd thing is that i actually tried this in Joomla 1.x and Virtuemart a few months ago and got it to work direct… when i pressed purchase i ended up on the Paypal page for paying with card or Paypal… and i just entered my Paypal e-mail in the configuration.
Maybe the new Virtuemart has some bug or need special configuration.bigrk Friendbigrk

March 17, 2008 at 2:30 pm #242395Another option you might want to look at is Magento, http://www.magentocommerce.com/. I have been taking a look at it myself and seems to have a lot of users and good community for help, etc.

March 17, 2008 at 10:41 pm #242422The thing with Magento is that it’s still not yet “fully” released. They are just now starting with the community relationships and development. No doubt, through, it’s going to be a robust ecommerce solution. It will most definitely give snails-pace VirtueMart a run for their money.

March 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm #242483Magento looks interesting, but it is a stand alone solution and not for integration with Joomla.. right?

March 18, 2008 at 2:21 pm #242485Just do a search on Joomla: http://www.magentocommerce.com/search/results/?q=joomla
It has been discussed a lot in their forums.
