I’m not sure if I should be posting this here or in a VIrtuemart forum, but here goes…
I am using virtuemart with a sulfur template, and have added a shopping cart module into the user4 position. See the site here: http://www.project-little.com/test/quickstart
Everytime I add a product to the cart, the shopping cart info in the user4 position (upper right, same row as logo) disappears. But if I refresh the page or navigate to some other page, it appears again and has the correctly updated cart contents.
I suspect this may be css/layering problem and not a virtuemart one, but I am really not sure 🙁

Couple of things to try.
First of all…it’s trying like crazy to do something really cool, like show an image…I’m thinking a thumbnail of the product…but because there are no thumbnail’s of products it gets confused and just turns off and cries.
So try putting up a few dummy images for your products and see if that might shake it up.
Second, have you tried locating it in any other position? In this template User4 is usually used for a Search Bar…and I’m thinking out loud…that perhaps there are issues with that particular position.
So try it in a differ area…like “right” to see if you get it to behave.
Let us know how you come out.

John, thanks for your reply.
Your suggestions all made good sense but didn’t seem to get any results, despite changing the “Show Cart” location to a couple of different module positions. Eventually, I managed to get the module to behave the way I thought it should by playing with the configuration settings of the virtuemart theme and disabled the use of ajax to update the cart. So far, I think it’s working the way it should 🙂
