Greetings,

My website sells bingo supplies. Some supplies such as lotto tickets are illegal to sell online, however I wish to still display the products inside of the store as part of the catalog.

What I want to do, is find a way to disable adding specific products to the cart.
(Some products are purchasable, and some only viewable.)

What are your ideas? :confused:

Hi Joe,

Try this >> In the VM backend. Go to categories and open that specific category.

Change the category browse page and flypage as per this screenshot >>

You can modify the browse page and flypage as per your further requirement.

Give it a shot and let us know. Besides, the best place to ask for Vm questions is the VM official forums. You get to meet the Real VM guys out there.

Thanks again for your expertise! I think that is a really helpful and great idea, and it is a working solution;
However these non-purchasable products are most likely going to share categories with purchasable products.
So this may not be the best solution for my particular product. However this was a point into the right direction.

I have opened a thread on the VM forums. The VM forums are not as quick to reply, so I’d apreciate to leave this thread open as well incase others wish to share their solutions. I will post my final process when discovered.

Hi Joe,

Keep us updated on this. What you need is an option to override the browser / flypage for products too. Not sure, but you can try to hunt google, may be someone got a hack available. It is certainly going to demand custom coding / hacking. If you got money to spare, you can try your hands at joomlancers.com .
