I am looking for a module or plugin that will allow for free shipping over a preset amount by the admin

    for instance

all orders over $250.00 get free shipping, exclude product X1, product X2, product X3,

    etc

I thought i saw it in the demo at VM, but its not there now

anyone know where i can get it

    Hello,
Free shipping like what you are looking for is built into VM, at least it used to be. I was doing that on one of my old sites. The only thing I’m not sure about is excluding certain products.
I am sure there is a setting in the configuration for free shipping over a certain ammount though. You can also search the VM forums for more info.
    Good luck

    Hi MJ

This module is still built into VM so you should be able to easily extract it, locate the module from: administratorcomponentscom_virtuemartclassesshipping

    The folowing files make up the module;
    shipvalue.php, shipvalue.cfg.php and shipvalue.ini

As already stated by Instantinlaw above, this module does not give you the option to exclude certain products, but it could do just that with a bit of work on it.

ok, if i build this and make it a plugin or vm modual and make it so that products can be added or excluted, how many would be interested, i would have to make it a commercial extension

Although I don’t have need for that functionality, I am sure it would be a big hit in the JED or VM extensions site (as long as you don’t charge too much for it).
If you really want to make some good money, check the multi vendor functionality extension that is being talked about/worked on in the VM forum. There is a great need for an online mall solution that works (and not just by me).
    Keep up the great work.

I couldn’t agree more with the need for Multi Vendor extension, I have no doubt such an extension will be huge. Updated VM upload module will also be popular, judging by the amount of requests in VM forum for it, check out the discussions here http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=14466.195

& here are the posts for multi vendor http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?action=search2 The main developer that was working on the extension is/was active in the Russian VM forum. I haven’t looked in a while because it looks like the project was abandonded but you may be able to pick up the pieces.

    Hi,

Hope this is helpful but I found the minimum amount in Store Information in the Admin area, sorry can’t help on excluding products though.

Does anyone have a solution to add the “free shipping over certain amount” to the standand shipping module where one can define own shipping rates by country?

I still wonder what the heck there are all those fedex and whatever canadian post modules but not one really perfect and suitable module where I can define rates like in any other popular shopping system…

    – Flat Fee shipping based on country with free shipping over certain amount (e.g locally above 70$, internationally over 200$ free shipping)

That is all, but not included, weight based and zone shipping, all that stuff, but the most simple one is missing.
