    Good day,

JA Hawkstore has a bug when it comes to Stockable Variants.

When a size with a higher price is selected in the drop down – the price does not change although its a higher price in Virtuemart Admin.

I have submitted a ticket with all details : Ticket: #IIM-763-77042

Please assist me – this is rather Urgent

    Hi synncom,

We are really sorry for late response. I saw you also raised your concern on the same topic thread . Lets backup your files & try to follow the tips of @moon Sailer.

    Hi synncom,

First of all, can you try to work with “plugins” custom field type for stockable variants on Joomla default template? If it works fine on Joomla default template, our dev team will thank you and update this bug fix in the next update of our JA Hawkstore template. If it still get the same error on Joomla default template, I regret to say that you should raise your concern on Virtuemart forum for better solution. As you know, fixing 3rd party extension is not under our Joomlart forum support service.

Secondly, in my opinion, it is quitely hard to display VM product including its sizes with the corresponding prices when you use “Plugins” custom field. and Many VM users are having the same issue with you in their threads on VM forums.

My suggestion: You should try on “Cart variant” or “Genetic child variant” custom field type which allow you to display the sizes of a product with corresponsing prices. These two types worked fine when I tested on our demo hosting. If you want to know the detailed steps, you can see this tip: http://cocoate.com/vm2/product-attributes-custom-fields . In my snapshot below, the prices changed when I selected other product’s sizes.

Lastly, at this time a database error is occuring on your website which is maybe caused by importing the new database via your installed CSVI Pro component. You should contact this extension provider to help to solve the database error before configurating the VM custom fields for your requirements.

The default Template works fine as I have stated in the Ticket
Please let me know what Database error you are receiving so that I can sort this out with the Developer.

Now that we know the Default Joomla Template works fine – what is going to be done about this?
I have started Using this template and now it doesnt work…

    Hi synncom,

At this time, there are two main issues happening on your website that I’d like to answer with detailed explanation below:

    1. The issue with Custom field “Stockable Variants”.

As I mentioned, customizing “plugins” Custom Field for displaying stockable variants is quitely hard to make both selection options (sizes, colors …) and Add to cart (Checkout) to work correctly. Because “Stockable variants” has been being a big issue from the first version of Virtuemart 2.x, and It seems that this issue has been not fixed by VM developer until now. For an example of my answer, you can see these:
Stockable Variants – Child Product Quantity Ranges do not work: https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=117010.0
Additional (Dropbox) Custom Fields with Stockable Variants :https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=113842.0
    >> Pro (Global Moderator) replied: “The dropbox is the only custom field I use on my site. But I do not keep stock, thats why it’s perfect for me
What bugs do you know of in stockable variants plugin: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=103067.240
    >> The thread gets 246th replies from 24/5/2012, but the issue has been not fixed completely.

The solution: You can try on “Cart variant” or “Genetic child variant” custom field type with attached tutorial in my previous reply to get your requirement. In addition, we will have to mark this thread “Non JA Issue ” because stockable variants plugin issue of VM component needs to be fixed by its developers in next updates.

    2. Add to cart issue.
This issue is caused by the stockable variants you added into the products. As we know, this custom field type has its own issue. For an example, the Add to cart feature works fine on the checkout page of the product when I removed the additional variants (stockable) in below product: http://mmawarehouse.co.za/index.php/component/virtuemart/hitman/alpha-black2013-07-10-07-40-131681066497-detail?Itemid=0

Hope these make you more clear about your current issue. Thank you !

    Hi,

I have just downgraded version to 1.0.0

Is there a solution for this? I have exactly the same problem.

The symbols “+” and “-” don’t work to add or quit product units and the Add to Cart button doesn’t do anything just takes me to (empty) Shopping cart.

Everything works fine if I use one of the default Joomla templates, the problem is only when I use the JA template.
