the attachment is a shot with the browser fonts set only at +2, a friend of mine with macular degeneration has a default setting of +4
It *is* possible to make a nice looking site, that people with visual impairments can still enjoy as well…

This is one of the many problems of being a web designer, the need to cater for so many ‘maybes’ . To design a site that can be read effectively at the font size you indicate would be possible however you would have to have a lot of white space within areas when viewed at normal fonts to allow for expansion etc etc
It’s just a consideration you have to look at when designing the layout and module content placement, if you KNOW in advance the site will be used predominantly by disabled ppl or is a help/club site for a group of ppl with eyesight bordering on blindness.
Then you can make the site to suit them not normally sighted ppl
Best thing for your friend is to use a text reader, makes it easier

April 2, 2007 at 3:11 am #217054It appears to only be the top header area that’s affected however maybe we should look at a text only version of our website?
