August 24, 2007 at 6:49 am #122305Help! I have been struggling with this problem for a while now. Unfortunately I am working from a local server, so no live site. Please bear with me.
I have installed the template using the Quickstart guide. At first everything was working properly, but now (and I don’t know what happened!) the slider (JA VM Product Slider) and vm-fp (VirtueMart Featured Products) modules are showing up on every VirtueMart category/product page.
If I link to a specific article on the site, it works properly, so the problem seems to be with VirtueMart.
This happened sometime after I installed sh404SEF and deleted the sample content that was installed with the template. (I did however uninstall sh404SEF and even turned SEF URLs off completely, and still having the same problem.)
Has anyone seen this before or can offer some advice? Thank you.

August 24, 2007 at 10:31 am #228028Hi man,
Every module in joomla can set display in module manage. you can login you admin panel and go to module => module manage. you will see a list of module. You chose “ja vm product slide” module to edit and you will see the option “Menu Item Link(s): ” And now you can set where to display this module. You can keep Ctrl button to add more than one link.thanks for reading and goodluck

August 24, 2007 at 10:35 am #228029Go to Administrator->Module->Site modules. Click in to Slider module to edit it.
In right area you will choose where this module will be display. If you only want to show it in homepage choose: mainmenu->HomeAugust 24, 2007 at 11:30 am #228040Hi,
I chose mainmenu->home but when I click on a category in the menu (mod_product_categories), the products appear below ja_news and vm-fp.
This happens when I am on the homepage. If I go on a page to another component, everything goes well.
I would like the products list displayed in place of I-ja-naws and vm-fp.
Please help, thx

August 26, 2007 at 5:47 pm #228153I’m sorry, I forgot to indicate in my original post that obviously I have specified in the module settings for it to only appear at mainmenu–>Home. This is why I am having the confusion, I have worked with Joomla very much and have never encountered this. My vm-fp and slider modules are showing up on every page – and I have told them only to be published on the Home page.

August 27, 2007 at 1:13 am #228165Allow me to further explain what is happening, as I have done more testing.
The default product categories from the Quickinstall work normally (iPod, iPhone, Other Products). When I add a 4th category, that works normally. However, when I add a 5th category this is where the problem occurs. Note that I am creating the categories exactly as specified in the Readme, and exactly like the pre-exisitng 3 categories. When I add a 5th category, clicking on this category in the left-side Products module takes me to the correct page, but the page shows below the Slider and Featured Products modules, which are supposed to be (and are specified in the module settings that way) present ONLY on the mainmenu|Home page.
So it goes something like this.
1. Default categories (3 of them) all work properly.
2. Adding 1 new category of my own works properly.
3. Adding a 2nd new category of my own creates module appearance problems.
4. All new categories after this have the same problem. It does not change anything if I unpublish other categories, move the category position, or even delete other categories. All categories created – starting from the 2nd user-created category – have these problems.
I am not sure if this is a problem with VirtueMart, Joomla, or the JoomlArt template, but I have a feeling it is a problem with the template.
Please let me know how to fix this, since the template is useless to me unless I can fix this problem. Thank you….

Is no one else having this problem?? If not, are you using the regular template install method or the Quickstart installation supplied by JoomlArt? Please help…August 28, 2007 at 1:44 am #228247Have you had a look @ instantinlaw’s thread about ja-news showing up on all pages, its actually a common bug with joomla 1.0.1X. Theres also info on the joomla.org forums… I have similiar problems with almost all of my templates.
