Is it possible to overwrite the VirtueMart files/layout from one JA template into another?

In other words, if I like the particular layout of the way the JA Team developed the VM display within, say, JA Mesolite, and wanted that visual display layout within the JA Zeolite structure – can I not simply overwrite the Zeolite VM component/module files with those from Mesolite (which would include all the relative images, css and php functions?)
