So, Mac’s are expensive? Even though they have built in Mic, Camera, software, USB ports, Firewire ports, WiFi, and oh … sooooo much more, and they work out of the box?

Most people that post on this forum are naive people. Hence they post here. Not everyone here can build a super-hot, virus free, protected Windoze machine for $300.

PC or Mac, what the??? Not every one here is as gifted as you my friend. 😉

As Billy said, perhaps Resistance is Futile and you’ll all wipe our the Resistance eventually.

For now, I’ll stick with the Mac and turn the Windoze thing on once a week to check a few sites and play Solitaire.

    Chris :)</blockquote>

    1. I do not need Mic, Cam, FW, WiFi and all the fancy things, when I like to make xxxmovies I purchase the right Adobe Software.

    2. My super hot windows machine is from 2006 and a laptop, slows down a lot and Mac is out of scope for me at this point of time.

    3. PC or Mac, I have a PC and only can ask who is gifted here with a MAC my friend.

Wow, what happened to the FTP program?!

Doesn’t Filezilla work on Mac and PC?

And let’s see how we can make the best Websites possible with whatever tools we have available. Of course the tools do make a difference, but the main difference is in the one who uses them.

I read a story once of a concert where thy advertised the violinist would come and play on a extremetly expensive violin. When the concert started, he played a piece, the people applauded, and then he samshed the violin on the stage.

Then the audience were told it was a cheap violin bought at a second hand store. Now he would play on the expensive violin. Most people never new the difference. It was the violinist that made the difference.

Lets do our best and make a difference with whatever Mac or PC we have.

    Enjoy!

I look for a professional SFTP Program, it can also cost money, I rather spend some bucks on a professional program than spending it into a MAC where I still would need a professional FTP program.

Program needs to work with SFTP, SSH and I need all the functions most the open source programs do not have, beginning and not limited to folder size display and all the features I will learn to love when I have those and could not even miss in the free ones…;)

As all those popular free ones, they all do not give the ability to see how many bytes are in each folder and I dare not to count files inside folders manually when a good FTP Program can this by default. I will check out this one mentioned program as I said.

Thanks again for all the answers! I am giving the thread free now, you can banter about all the MS and MAC stuff without borders, much fun with it!:D

I scold my clients for pasting Word content into an article! I tell them to paste it into NotePad first, then copy and paste into the editor window and format with the tools there!

    As for the other guy,

Hee Hee, What’ wrong with Windoze anyway! It’s not that bad. It is actually quite good.

I say, “Ignorance is Bliss!” 😀 (not said maliciously, but in gentle, fun-poking kind of way…)

I’m Unsubscribing from this thread, too, wooohanetworks…ciao!

I would say you are that then, you said you unsubscribed and now post again, and this paranoid schizophrenic Microsoft wants to take over the world stuff….this is hilarious. People have to comply to changes in the world daily, only the ones who can do this will get over it.

To come with such stuff and to even think that way leads to nothing, it changes nothing and never will change something. When you want something to change then you must first investigate it any efforts you take, may it be to discuss it with such attitude and opinions will change it or if you waste energy, time and efforts on something you can’t change or you should spend the time for things that make your life complying to it as you know you can’t change it.

And honestly, I think you guys have the enjoyment to banter about this and enjoy bantering about it and nothing else. I simply do not understand that you do not accept (or did accept it but still come up with it) how the world is and that there are things we can’t change or better see it as a challenge to get fit for the changes in our world. Those comments sound same like any conspiracy theory banter and so it has no place in business or a place where such comments do not fit in.

Actually I did not start the whole thing, I was same respectful to anyone before a nice respectless comment came up about that MAC is better than PC and most of the naive people here in the forum will not be able to afford a MAC, so actually this leads to a circle of riddles and so for me the thread ends here.

Sorry that we naive people can’t afford a MAC and to banter about Big Bad Microsoft…rather work on making our sites natively compliant to IE8 instead of wasting time to banter about the whole deal. SORRY!

well my personal one of use is bulletproof ftp, during a long time it was a good solution for me then i use cute ftp. but checking the web, i see that smart ftp its a choice for you supports ssh over sftp.

i choose in your case or smart ftp or cuteftppro

cuteftp supports ftp over ssh so this will help you too

I prefer bulletproof ftp, but whensoever i need to check the folder ownerships, filezilla helps.

Filezilla. And yes the ability to CHMOD folder and file permissions recursively is nice, albeit the slow way to do it.

Not that this is the place to get into a Mac v Windoze discussion but … :p

Windows is ugly, it’s full of stuff people don’t need, it’s clunky, it installs all sorts of garbage, it’s prone to every single virus that’s ever written, etc. etc.

I do use a PC but only to check a few sites, I would NEVER use it as a full time machine in my job. The thing crashes all the time, virus galore, etc. I’d be out of business by now.

Good ‘ol Microsoft ruling the World. Thank goodness IE views sites totally different to any other non Microsoft browsers eh? Makes my job 10 times harder, I can build a site that looks fantastic … but not in IE, then waste years making it work because Microsoft have a different view on how HTML should be written compared to the rest of the World.

If you haven’t guessed I hate all things Microsoft 🙂

    Chris

(Ever tried copying and pasting from Word into an Joomla Text Editor, what’s all that code about?)</blockquote>

Chris, I love Microsoft for the exact reasons you hate Microsoft. Call me selfish but someone has to fix and support their mess, they kept me well busy for over ten years. If Macs are the only computers, I probably would have had the shortest career in computers.
