Hi all,
Can someone help please.
This is the error message showing above the ja_slideshow when loading.
Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxx/modules/mod_jaslideshow/mod_jaslideshow.php on line 297
I have changed permissions to folders and files, but nothing changed.
Looking forward to your help.
Cheers
Rudy:)

Hi Rudy
what permission did you give the folder? Set it at 755 and make sure to also set subfolders and contents also then re test?1 user says Thank You to ShannonN for this useful post

while it shouldn’t need to set for test once off only to 777 that gives it all permissions be sure to change back afterwards as it will be a security risk if you are still getting the issue get your host to investigate from their end some hosts have weird permission blocks on certain folders maybe the changes are not propagating through everything in the folder?

January 24, 2009 at 7:03 am #287942Thanks Shannon,
I’ll try the 777 first and if that fails I’ll talk to server support.
I’ll keep you informed either way.

January 24, 2009 at 8:14 am #287950I was running into this problem as well – I found that I had to check the ownership of the files as well – when joomla installs it sets ownership to apache (on an apache server) I would reset ownership reursively to directories, and then chmod to correct permissions. – do not take setting your folders and files to 777 lightly – it basically opens your site, and the server your on if its a shared host to any hacker out there. –
Do you have an admin panel for your hosting? is it cpanel or direct admin or something similar? different interfaces have of course different means to reset ownership – otherwise you might want to try http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/file-management/2630/details which can give you some features that a normal admin panel provides.

January 25, 2009 at 7:00 am #288092Hi artmyth,
Thank you for your reply to my problem.
The ownership was indeed an issue, and was corrected by support server.
After that the problem remained. But I also found this post from user peterva:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/warning-mkdir-function-mkdir-permission-denied-in/
And that solved the problem. Many thanks for helping me out to all those posting a reply.
Cheers
