Hi All,
something i don’t think is done very well in Joomla! are site subscription for user accounts – exactly how Joomlart’s site works.
I wreckon a template that incorporates paid subscription upon registration through paypal would be AWESOME and something i’d be willing to pay a little extra for even!
So how about it good folk at Joomlart – a template incorporating website subscriptions – pay upon registration, block account upon expiration.
PLEASE 😀 😀

January 16, 2009 at 12:02 am #286710When you need something before JA can implement this, you may look at http://www.joomsuite.com and JoomUser or Member etc.. and pay like 19€ for it..;) BTW, Joomlart.com is by now only making templates and modules, plugins that are mostly not ecommerce solutions themselves, but content related. So this is in any case an extensions thing but I think the thing itself, a plugin like that should not be a huge enterprise to build it…so who knows, maybe one day.

</blockquote>What woohanetworks said is correct. Best to get whatever template you really like and then add on the subscription and premium content extensions.
I’ve been using JoomSuite products for around 6 months now and they work just fine.
JoomSuite User:
http://joomsuite.com/index.php?option=com_resource&view=article&article=17&Itemid=13I use for managing my User List. It also allows full configuration of the Registration form (I wanted more info that the standard Joomla registration, for instance Location, Age, Occupation, etc.) and also has built in ‘Captch’ image security on the registration forms,
19 euros for a lifetime licence.
JoomSuite Member:
http://joomsuite.com/index.php?option=com_resource&view=article&article=15&Itemid=9I use for my ‘Pay to View’ content. This restricts certain sections, categories or even articles to non-registered members. Has built in PayPal/2CO payment gateways for taking subscriptions. Automatic subscription reminders and stacks more.
59 euros for a lifetime licence.
Both components have a one-month trial licence available if you want to try before you buy!
Cheers

January 16, 2009 at 8:47 am #286758I agree with the above comments.
I use AEC (Account Expiration Control) – it’s free and pretty powerful. however it does take a bit of time to get used to.
https://globalnerd.org/index.php/AEC1.html
it controls my members area – where it allows members to sign up to different subscriptions and it also allows you to setup different subscription expiration dates and it automatically sends out the relevant renewal emails etc when the account is going to expire and then it automatically expires the accounts.
probably does everything the above components do and more.
(I should be a salesman shouldn’t I?) 😉
