Hello,
I’m having a real headache trying to see the changes I make on my site. I will go in and edit a module or an article, small change or large, and every time, I click “View Site” from the back end of the Joomla Administrator dashboard, 95% of the time, I get a bunch of broken images and do not see the change I just made. Sometimes, I will keep doing work on different sections so that I should be seeing a half dozen changes around the page, and I see nothing. Sometimes, I lose the template all together and get a white screen with a blue hypertext tree structure of the topnav and main menus. This seems to happen almost for no reason. Literally, I think it has happened when all I have done is close the page I was viewing the site on and reopened the page by clicking “view site”. I’m not messing with the CSS files; I’m just correcting spelling, or changing an image or at most changing a module’s position. It’s especially hard because I have a few issues I’ve spent all day trying to solve and it is doubly frustrating because I can’t even view the site in it’s current form, or so it seems. I just don’t know what I’m looking at. It feels like I’m working on it half blind.
I note that in the template manager, global tab there are the following settings, which when I looked at one of the online guide’s here, I could not make sense of. I did try. Here is what the settings are:
Enable Development Mode: Yes No
Cache Mode: Disabled Enable (but I can only see this if the above “Enable Development Mode” is clicked “No”)
Enable Template Information: Yes NoPresently, I have these set at: Enable Development Mode-NO; Cache Mode-Disabled; Enable Template Information-Yes, but I have played around with them every which way trying to see if I could figure out how they work and I haven’t a clue. I don’t see any consistent activity to understand.
If anyone can help me understand this Template Manager Global tab, as well as what can be done to make viewing my site more reliable and responsive through the back end “view site” button, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you,
Hank Edson

Could you post here a screen shot with your Seo settings ?
Thanks
February 21, 2012 at 11:12 pm #439388I am having the same problem, I have searched and searched, changed my settings based on several posts and still it doesn’t work. I posted the issue today and haven’t heard anything back. I think the only thing I can do now is submit a ticket.
I’m frustrated and confused. Hopefully someone will have an answer and assist those of us having the same problem without the understanding of why it’s happening.
Thanks to anyone who does help!
Renee

February 22, 2012 at 8:34 am #439434Hi Tamaras
I have checked your site and all settings are correct, you have also all your plugins modules and components updated to the last versions
The only thing that i have noticed is your logs folder unwritable i’m not sure if making this folder writable could be the solution to your issue but before we can consider this a bug of the template we need to exclude this issue, i have tried through the Ftp client to change the chmod to that folder from 705 ( actual setting ) to 755 or 777 but nothing changed the folder is always unwritable and this is very strange, so now i can suggest you to ask to your hosting provider how you need to change the chmod to make that folder writable, after this you can reply if your issue is solved otherwise i can open an internal ticket for joomlart devs considering yours as a template bug.
I have also tried to enable the FTP layer with the info you provided but the template doesn’t accept this configuration, that is correct because i’m logged in with FileZilla. -
