June 3, 2008 at 3:50 pm #129242Hello,
I have just finished uploading quickstart for Teline 2. I have extracted the files and now I don’t know what next.
I am just trying to follow these instructions?
Installing Quickstart package is quite easy as you install the normal joomla!. Please follow these steps:
Download the quickstart package from JoomlArt download sectionYou have 2 options now:
– Upload the zip file to your host and extract it using cPanel or other File Manger Tools if possible.
– If option above not available, you can extract the zip file in your local machine, and upload all file to your host using FTP client program.Start installation by typing your URL to that quickstart that you have extracted (uploaded). The installation page should be appear as normal Joomla! installation.
Follow the instruction step by step to complete installation process. While install, please remember to install Sample Database to have all JoomlArt designed content and module, components settings.when I type my web address online, it just show “The page cannot be found” error.
I think I am missing something here. Please help. I tried to follow guidances but I don’t know if my knowledge is limited or these are not clear enough.
How do I start the installation after uploading quickstart?
Where should I go?
Thanks in advance.nigelta Friendnigelta

At least you have been able to do the initial part, if you were following what others told you here.
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/i-need-professional-help-for-telline-ii/
The difficulty of being able to help you is that you do not provide your site URL. Those who mean well and wanted to help you have to speculate:
1.) What exactly did you upload?
You have to give us specifics here, give us URLs, of your site and the location of the QuickStart; if not, no one can help you If you uploaded the whole QuickStart kit, then you uploaded more than you need.2.) What must have happened or where your “QuickStart” upload went
As the other responder nigelta inquired, was the kit installed in the root?3.) Whether the uploaded Quickstart Kit was renamed.
If you did not rename the actual quick start directory — and as I stated in the first question, it must be just the correct folder, not the entire kit — the name of the quickstart kit is too long, and is not suitable for use later on.Again, you have to provide details. You are wasting the time of people who wanted to help you if you do not.

June 4, 2008 at 5:09 pm #251956Sorry about this.
I have uploaded Quickstart using FTP Unlimited. It is in the root and I have extracted the files. it’s just
called Quickstart. My website is http://www.imagineguinee.com and I have created a database and a user linked to it.
I have not renamed anything yet.
For more details, there was a folder called
QUICKSTART
and a file called
“ja_teline_ii_quickstart_v1.3_1.5.3”I have uploaded the first one.

June 4, 2008 at 6:18 pm #251964I don’t have Joomla installed yet. On my hosting account I have some other domains. For this specific one, I don’t know where start this.
the guide says to go to my site, which is http://www.imagineguinee.com and then it says “Now you see the Joomla installation screen and first step is to choose language, i choose english. ” I cannot see that.
I was told that Joomla comes with the Quickstart and I don’t need to instatll it.
Am I getting something wrong here? Thanks again for the help. I am just not very familiar with this, but I believe I can do it.
thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi ukfraternite,
It seems from the name you have uploaded the correct one. I used the zip file (and after opened), it gave
ja_teline_ii_qui_v1.3_1.5.3
not sure if there was error in the name in mine.
As suggested by Menalto, you should read the QuickStart install for Joomla 1.5.x that he provided.
The problem that I see is this. You have not renamed your quickstart file.
Let us say you rename your QuickStart kit call it:
jte15x00
Note, you can give it any name though, if you want. However, if you use the aforementioned name, and if you type:
http://www.imagineguinee.com/jte15x00
then click on the URL, you are ready to start the Quick install.
Try Menalto’s QuickStart installation, and I hope it works. However, the installation of Joomla 1.5.x is more complicated than installing the equivalent for the Joomla 1.0.x.
If you wish to try the QuickStart Kif of JA Teline II version for Joomla 1.0.x, I wrote this one specially for you:
with explanations.

Indeed, the QuickStart kit has both the Joomla 1,5.3 and whatever else you need of the JA Teline II. So, you are in the correct direction. You just have to rename the Quickstart folder, as suggested in my previous response.
To anticipate a step in Joomla 1.5.x, you have to create a special FTP username and password, to continue with the installation. You will encounter yet another problem if you did not set this FTP username and password correctly, and included it in the right form.
This step is not required in the Joomla 1.0.x version.
However, since you already have installed the one for Joomla 1.5.x, it is good to continue. If you keep a more positive attitude, you will always learn something whether it works or not.
Of course, the best outcome is for it to work, for you. Good luck.

June 5, 2008 at 5:29 pm #252183Hello Guys,
I would like to thank you all for the great help you have provided to me.
And also with your patience. I have learned something new with the backend and more importantly, you have taught me to be patient, just like you all were.
Thanks one more time. cgc0202, Menalto, nigelta
As for the problem I encountered, it was all related to a simple fact that I had previously removed my site directory from the public_html list. And when I extracted the files, that went to the default domain that was already up and running (not mine).
You have been all gr8.
Have a good day!

Congratulations ukfraternite!
At least now you have a working Demo JA Teline II site. The more ardous task is modifying it to suit your own needs.
Maybe, after some time you may be able to help new users who would encounter the same issues, as you have encountered.
Good luck!
