What is the difference between Magenta and Joomla Template?
In which of the two I subscribe?
Why to be member of Joomla and Magenta at the same time is nonsense.

Magento is an Open Source system for an ONLINE SHOP. The club sells templates you can use to sell your goods.
Joomla is an Open Source system for ANY WEBSITE IN GENERAL. The club sells templates you can use for any purpose.

The two use completely different systems and operate in different ways.

Have you not been reading any of the announcements recently?
You are seriously in the wrong place if you didnt know about Joomla.

hanifahmed …. I’m getting the impression that his question was more an inquiry about Magento than it was about Joomla.

carlucci . . . hanifahmed is correct about the basic description of Magento. It is first and primarily an open source ecommerce application – whereas Joomla is a Content Management System suited for a very wide variety of purposes – one of which (with the help of the VirtueMart shopping cart) is ecommerce.

In my opinion, Magento is a superior shopping cart system with many very professional features and functions. However, where it excels in function, it severely lacks in file structure and ease of customization/modification. It does have some handy internal tools to assist with identifying template file paths and such – but the template files, xml files and relative css files are in completely different locations within the Magento file structure framework – making it cumbersome and somewhat difficult to modify (at least, not as relatively easy as it is to work within the Joomla framework … again, in MY opinion).

My recommendation to you . . . check out the http://www.magentocommerce.com site and explore through it a bit. There is quite a bit of information on there – including a User Guide and a Developer’s Guide (which I actually find to me most helpful).

Here are a few Magento site links I find most useful . . . .

    Hi,
I actually know more about Magenta.
Of course it is Joomla, if after 3 years I do not know what is Joomla close the kiosk and then I go on vacation.
However, as I understood Magenta is a development on VirtueMart and can be adapted to other developments.

I am a member of RocketTheme and this month has left a very good connection to Template VirtueMart do not need another eCommerce Template.

Therefore, I want to know if Magenta is much more useful for Templates
    conventional Joomlart.
If so then you could change to magenta.

Currently I am using very little template of Joomlart.
Magenta I have to give much more than now to continue.
What is the point of having so many eCommerce Template?

Bear in mind, please, I do not speak English. So what I write and translate with Google might find confusing. Have a little patience with me.

    Ciao
