Ever so slightly miffed, the template was running very slow, coincidentally so was this site so I did a speed test and found that the culprits are in my source code and they are:

http://static.joomlart.com/t3/logo/t3_logo_light.png load time 1.8 secs
http://static.joomlart.com/t3/logo/t3_logo_dark.png load time 1.8 secs
http://static.joomlart.com/t3/logo/t3_logo_light_sm.png load time 1 sec
Adding an extra 4.6 seconds load time to my home page!!

I have the t3 logo switched off in the template config so why is it loading in my code and where do I find to remove it permanently?

This logo is use for show t3 framework’s copyright, you can disable this logo as following:
go to edit this template, you choose “No Show” Option for the T3 Logo parameter

I did have it disabled in the portfolio template parameters but although it stopped it from being visible it was still being called by the framework plugin css – in the end I deleted it from there.
