February 4, 2010 at 3:56 pm #331567Hello,
You didn’t put your question very clear, if I may say so. What do you mean by “channel”?
Maybe you have to study user guide for this template to see how you must set up Frontpage module and JaNews2 module.Good luck,

February 4, 2010 at 5:05 pm #331572I don’t know what you did to cause the problems.
In any case I see 2 home-items in magazine menu:
menu ItemID 492 and menu ItemID 371 (which is the home item of quickstart version.I also see an a-tag which I never saw before:
<a href=”/history-theory/” title=”Taditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been around for thousands of years. Although the first recorded history of TCM dates back over 2000 years, it is believed that the origins of TCM goes back more than 5000 years. According to the legend the origins of traditional Chinese medicine is traced back to the to three legendary emperors/mythical rulers: Fu Xi, Shen Nong and Huang Di. Historians believe that Shen Nong and Fu Xi were early tribal leaders. Fu Xi was a cultural hero who developed the trigrams of Yi Jing(I Ching) or Book of Changes. February 4, 2010 at 7:31 pm #331576It looks like you have NOT done lots of work on your new site. I have requested for assistance on a different matter since 3 days ago now. No a hint, yet.
If I were you, I would do a fresh installation again. This time, you do NOT need to delete the Sections or Categories. Just rename them to whatever you desire. If you do not need a Section, just unpublish it and check your website straight after.
You should also note that if there are no articles on the sections/categories, they might not appear if their ID numbers are not listed in the Ja-News Module.
Check again the User Guide for configuration and remember this template is one of the hottest JA has. So it is designed to work with less trouble.
Good luck!

February 5, 2010 at 12:46 am #331595In the Module Manager, go to JA News 2. Make sure your Intro Items has 1 (or more). If this is blank or 0 then nothing will show up.

February 5, 2010 at 12:59 am #331596I noticed a few more odd things about your site. For the record, History & Theory (yours is misspelled), TCM Life, Medicinal Herbs, etc – these are all Sections in Joomla language. Your reference to “channels” confused people.
Everything that appears in your second bar are categories. The categories in your “TCM Life” section are: Personal Tech, Business Tech, Space, etc. What I am noticing that is odd is that you do not have any articles connected to your categories. If you go to your Article Manager and open one of the generic articles that came with your Sample Data, you have to make sure each article is pointed to one of the Categories. When you are looking at the article, you will see the drop-down menu on the left asks you to choose a section and the drop-down menu on the right asks you to choose a category.
Once you properly connect each article to a category, you will see it when you click on “Space,” for example, and also when you are on your frontpage. My site – http://www.pan-america.org – shows you how the articles are found under each category and how they also appear in the frontpage. Hope this helps.
