you want css & js optimizations off for now.
    joomla cache & gzip off.
    cache’s and temp files cleared…
this sets your site up so you can properly analyze exactly what is going on and HOPEFULLY clear things up.
the js error I THINK is caused by a google ad app. I’ve seen it a LOT lately.</blockquote>

After I turned off Optimize CSS and Optimize JS, GZIP Page Compression and System Cache, cleared Cache and Temp files (as I was advised) I have an error message “JFolder::create: Could not create directory” right on the FRONTPAGE in RED. Getting rid of this error message has become my top priority for now.

This is what I have done so for turned Optimize CSS and Optimize JS, GZIP Page Compression and System Cache back on, set permissions on tmp and cache directories and subdirectories to “write” still not able to get rid of the error message.

Any idea how to fix this problem?

That means Joomla is trying to create a folder somewhere but file permissions or some other server setting are preventing it from doing so. You can turn on the debug mode of Joomla to display the errors and from there you can see what folder the script is trying to create and you can adjust file permissions accordingly.

I have already tried enabling write permission on each and every single directory, sub directory, folder and file with no avail. The pesky error message just does not want to go away.

Have you enabled debug mode so you can see what folder the script is trying to create?

Before we go any further can you please update your Joomla install to the latest release. You are quite a bit behind and there are some known problems.
