August 5, 2008 at 7:45 pm #131828Okay, I just started working with this template for a particular project and I jusut have to ask . . . what is with the black bar at the top?
I mean, seriously, what was the thought process in the design / layout process – it’s just a big black void at the top.Relatively easy enough to do away with, I suppose – through most of the Pariti baseed sites I’ve seen have kept it.
Just curious as to why.

August 5, 2008 at 7:48 pm #263952Well probably because you wouldn’t be able to see the template tools otherwise. :p

August 5, 2008 at 7:52 pm #263956I suppose – though I never use the tools anyway – and I’m moving the search box to another position.
Oh well – to each his own.
Hey – do you have any suggestion about a decent (not too hard on the eyes) background color against the yellow of the site if I am to remove the flowery border background? I’m using the template for a fishing tackle site.

August 5, 2008 at 7:59 pm #263957Hey Tom,
There are some really good color picking tools on this site: http://designzen.wordpress.com/2007/10/25/make-use-of-free-online-color-picker-tool/
or do a search for “complimentary color picker” or similar.1 user says Thank You to instantinlaw for this useful post

August 6, 2008 at 5:55 pm #264147I left my black bar. I think it gives a 3D look and brings the body up away from the background. If I weren’t using the template background I probably would have removed it also but I like my site with it up. I also edited the existing background to create the shadow all the way down my page (instead of the templates 1/4 way)
