imsleepy;118575I have heard that sites linking back to you make a big difference with the Google ratings. That may be where we have a bit of an edge too. Lots of schools and colleges along with many many sites have links back to us. Some of the colleges actually use our site as part of their course studies. Is there a way to find all the sites that have links back to you? The only way I discover them is through my stats. I can find many by Googling our URL, but I sure would like a way to find them all. Would be interesting.

In my opinion inbound links are more important than page rank etc. That IS your edge.
Using this is supposed to show inbound links link:http://www.google.com replace google with your site. Don’t miss the link: part.

I think you put a space in the url. Try link:http://www.ussarizona.org43 linking to http://www.ussarizona.org. still pretty good though.

Well, I tried the little box on that page and now I get 43 most of them me. I know that’s not right because off-hand I know of over 200 sites with links back. I guess there is no way to get a true count?

I think the results from Yahoo are more accurate http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ussarizona.org&bwmf=s&fr2=seo-rd-se&bwm=i shows inlinks 627 and pages 330 though I know there are more than 330 pages in the site. Close to 700 but about 200 of them are PDFs which might not make it into the count.

Ha… I think I found accurate http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ussarizona.org&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=s I used the dropdown to exclude my domain and came up with 424 links back to us. Now I am going to copy the list and explore them all later!

BTW here are some of my pages indexed by google. The titles and descriptions are alot better than the earlier one in question. http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aoldphotographic.com&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGIH_en-US still needs some work though.

So this shows the entire site? I tried it with mine http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7GGIH_en-US&q=site%3Aussarizona.org and it came up with 750 results. I know there are over 700 pages in the site.

I love learning new things!!! What other kinds of commands can you do in Google?

It only shows pages indexed by google. Some of your pages may not be indexed yet. I’m no expert on google commands, but doing a search for google commands etc will surely bring up something.

So apparently Google has indexed 750 pages of the site? Wow! I had no idea Google dug that deep.
