Hello, I have a strange problem. I’m using T3 Blank Template, which I styled with css a bit to look different. Now I created a template override with Extensions -> Templates -> Templates -> MyTemplate details and files -> Create Overrides

The thing is: the moment I create the override – mind: without doing any chanes to the files! – my 3-column-blog layout breaks down into 1 column. When i delete the override files, everything is back to normal.

What is happening here? And how can I create an override without this problem?

    Thank you much in advace.

    Hi bvneck,

You can check out this documentation for how to override templates built with T3 framework: http://www.t3-framework.org/documentation/extend-com-content#isolate-template

Thank you, Saguaros, that tutorial was helpful.

But there is 1 point in the tutorial i get stuck (I think maybe there i one step missing?)

When i choose "Menues" -> "Menu items" -> MyMenuItem -> "Menu item type" -> "Select" I want to assign my newly created Blog Layout to this menu item. But it doesn’t appear as a choice in my list. There is only the "Category Blog" als usual….

Why is that? How can I make it to display in the List?

Thank’s for your help in advance.

I put the newly created xblog.php etc. files into the following folders:

    • templates/MyTemplate/html/com_content/category/
    • templates/MyTemplate/html/com_content/category/tmpl/
    • templates/MyTemplate/local/html/com_content/category/
    • templates/MyTemplate/local/html/com_content/category/tmpl/

I thought at least one of these folders should be the right one, so that I can apply the new Layout as a menu item type, like described in the tutorial. But nada…

    What am i doing wrong?

Is your site online now? You can update URL, admin & FTP account so I can have a look.
