April 28, 2014 at 8:34 am #197140Hi,
when is the jobboard likely to be compatible with Joomla 3x?
There seems to be very little development on this component, which is a shame. Is there likely to be a new release any time soon? If not, is there any way we can make it compatible for Joomla 3 ourselves?
I really don’t want to move away from this component as have gotten used to it, but the development cycle is incredibly long

April 28, 2014 at 2:40 pm #532721Is your current Joomla + JobBoard site not working as it should? If it is, what’s the rush to upgrade?
Nevertheless, I will forward your inquiry onto the JA Development Team for further comment.

April 28, 2014 at 3:28 pm #532732Hi Tom,
we have gone through the process of upgrading everything to Joomla 3 and so I can’t install job board unfortunately (at least I don’t think I can?).
The job board seems to be left behind at Joomlart (lots of other stuff has been upgraded) so any news would be most appreciated.

April 29, 2014 at 8:00 am #532835Hi,
Since J! 3.x is a short term release cycle, JobBoard was not upgraded for it. We will upgrade for J 3.5 (long term release). It is not possible to maintain JobBoard for two versions of Joomla.
New release strategy announcement for Joomla! is expected to be announced officially in the coming days and decision on JobBoard for J! 3.x will be finalized then.
We do have plan to rewrite much of JobBoard when we do the upgrade for J! 3.x.
Regards
Arvind

April 29, 2014 at 11:22 am #532873Hi Arvind,
thanks for the update.
Roughly how long would the process take before there is a Joomla 3 version. The only reason I am asking is that if its months away, then I need to look for an alternative as its holding everything up for us. I don’t really want to move away from the jobboard though, as I am used to it now.

I’m not understanding why you cannot maintain your current J2.5 based site until when J3.5 (and a subsequent JobBoard update for J3.5) is released.

July 24, 2014 at 10:54 am #543357Hi Mel,
We would start the upgrade process for JobBoard once Joomla 3.5 (long term release) is here and we will stop supporting Joomla 2.5 version then on and help users migrate to J 3.5 version.
It is not possible for us to maintain two versions for JobBoard as it is very complex component and we plan to update the jobboard component, which may make it hard for backward compatibility.
We have recently released a updated version for Joomla 2.5.
Regards
Arvind
