Hi !
I have installed K2 SEARCH extension on my joomla 1.5. travel template.
I am a newbie but curiously there is no help in your K2 SEARCH user guide regarding where data is supposed to be and with which filter type it has to be configured.More details ?
I need to have two dropdown fields, one for “Departure cities”, one for “Arrival Cities”.
According to the selection on the site, a price value should show once the search button has been clicked.Could you help me in that task ?
Vincent

August 9, 2011 at 2:53 pm #405157Hi navettesaeroest,
(i.e. To add new City…)
In K2 component create Extra field ‘City’ as drop-down selection and add options
In K2 Filter and Search module choose ‘Filter type’: drop-down selection (but can be any option)
In ‘Select Extra field’ choose ‘City’ and Save!
Let me know if this resolved your issuesAugust 9, 2011 at 4:05 pm #405171Hi !
It is what we have done. But where do we enter the data ?
(example city1,city2,price;… etc)Blaine FriendBlaine

August 9, 2011 at 4:17 pm #405174Are you trying to add new data or trying to add a new field for data?

Once you add that in the extra field configuration, when you are editing the k2 item, navigate to the extra fields tab and select the appropriate option for that item. With that done it should appear as an option in the search!

Hi ! Sorry for the delay, we were on Holidays !
We did what you suggested but where should we enter the according values or data for obtaining results. (price in our case)
For example, in field “departure” we see all according cities, in field “arrival” we have our two destinations places, but once “Search” button is clicked no result appears (the search works however).Another question : how do we unpublish the keyword search that is not relevant for us ?
Thanks for your assistance !

August 30, 2011 at 11:31 am #409632You unpublish the Keyword search in the module – there is a parameter there that will take that box off.
Have you installed and run the indexing plugin?
That’s an important one that most people miss. It’s like a search engine, it has to index all the extra fields and where they are used before it can display them. If you don’t do that, then it doesn’t know anything is there! Make sure you’ve installed and run that, then just leave the plugin enabled and it will keep indexing as you update your content.August 30, 2011 at 2:52 pm #409662Yes, we have run the indexing plug-in.
But my question was where do we enter the values to get a result (see my previous message) ?Thanks again for your attention

August 30, 2011 at 3:26 pm #409667Sorry – didn’t understand that.Once you set up the extra fields and their option – you would enter this data in the article editing view for K2 – just switch tabs to extra fields, and select the values.
September 6, 2011 at 7:25 am #410897Hi !
Could you explain us how to give a value for a data relationship. For example :
CityDeparture 1, CityDepature 2 and Cityarrival
if citydeparture 1 to cityarrival is USD 100
and citydeparture 2 to cityarrival is USD 150
How do you enter the relationship value between these fields ?In our case, we can create add any “default” value but only without any link to another field.
(citydeparture 1 default value is 100 but we cannot link this to the cityarrival)Seems complicated for us !!! :-[

September 9, 2011 at 8:01 pm #411797My apologies, copy and paste was not my friend today!
Read here for good module info.
There is also a great video tutorial watch.
And do read the User Guide as well. -
