My contact form does not appear to send email when submitted. Where is the documentation for contact form? What email address does the form get sent to? How do I fix the problem.

August 27, 2014 at 3:24 am #547376Hi heritage,
1. The email that the form sent to is the email address in the global config:
System >> Global Configuration >> Server >> Mail section >> Email2. If you want to edit the “contact us” information (in the left hand of contact form), you can create a your own contact and assign it to “Contact us” menu
a. Create your own contact: Component >> Contact >> New >> Fill your information
Remember to publish your contact and the contact ID: http://prntscr.com/4gv6go
b.Change of the ID of contact in contact form: Menu >> Main Menu >> Contact Us >> Tab: Details >> Select contacts >> add the ID of new contact : http://prntscr.com/4gv5gwYou can refer to the below link for more detail: http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla/joomla-contact-us.htm
If you still face the issue. Kindly share me the Url and Admin account, I can have a look
Best regards

September 1, 2014 at 12:57 pm #547862The email submit in contact from will send to info@xxxxxxxxxxxaca.com. If you didnt receive any email to this email. Just check in Spam box or try another email address
Best regards
September 3, 2014 at 1:25 am #548037Ok this works, so I’m to understand the contact assigned to this page gets the email not the administrator. Also the Send copy to yourself checkbox does NOT send an email to the sender of the form. How can this be repaired?

September 6, 2014 at 9:13 am #548560Hi heritage123,
I can see that sending email is not working while it was working before.
Did you change anything in your site recently?Best regards
September 8, 2014 at 6:12 pm #548757I removed the unused contacts that were installed with the template. Also I have been unpublishing other default content that came with the template.
I did change the default email address in the contacts. There was an email test using the email in the Owner contact. Accessed on 9/2. Last know working. So I don’t know did you create the Owner account?
Please advise

The Contact form is working now. This is known issue in Joomla 2.5.22 . You can refer this link for more information https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/commit/09e8d05987ba1b5f3f1048ed2e9dd4cdf122b374
Best regards
September 9, 2014 at 3:23 pm #548868I tested the contact form and did not receive any email nor did the “Send copy to yourself” checkbox work either.
What shall I do to fix this?

September 10, 2014 at 12:13 pm #549020OK it seems to be working now. May I remove the Owner contact as it does not seem to have a purpose.
