I have successfully changed the default logo for my web site. I changed the code in the template.css filein the css and I have replaced the logo file in the images folder. This has allowed me to have my own logo in all my web pages. However, when I insert a menu item for contacts that I created in my contacts component manager, the old default ja teline III logo apears at the top of the web site. It only appears when some one visiting my website clicks on the contacts menu item. Not on any others. Why didn’t my changing the defualt logo to my own also apply to contacts? I am using JA Teline III v.2

January 2, 2011 at 5:04 pm #369667Can you provide in direct site link to take closer look
January 2, 2011 at 7:13 pm #369694Thank you, the website is http://www.trailheadperspectives.org
Also, I just tried viewing my website in a friend’s browser which is an older viersion of Windows Internet Explorer. In that browser, not only was their the old JA Teline iii default logo under Contacts, but also in all the other web pages except the “home” page, which brought up my correct new logo.
When I uploaded my own logo, I used a different file type than what the original logo was. From a gif to a bmp. I also changed that designation in the template.css file. I assume that even if I find the other locations for the old defualt logo, I will need to change some sort of css file too? Is that correct? By the way, be very specific in your steps since I am learning everything for the first time including what a file manager is etc.

January 2, 2011 at 8:26 pm #369698Please disable css compression to provide in right file and line reference and also, It would help to debug the references properly 🙂
January 2, 2011 at 10:00 pm #369727Thank you so much. That was a simple fix. I turned the CSS optimize option to NO. I appreciate having people like you mentor us new people in this community. Will having this be set to “No” affect my site in any way, making it slower etc. If not, in what situations is the compression desired? Why have it available if it is advised for me to have it off. Also, I do not know what you mean by debug my references. Because I am new at this, I don’t know what you mean by debug the references. I saw that there is a System Debug in the plugins that is enabled. I would appreciate it if you can walk me through this and also explain what is happening and why so I can learn more about how joomla and JA templates work. Again, thank you very much.
