    Hi!

I installed the template with the sample data. However I can’t find the top.top-panel in my list of available position.

Is there another module that I must installed?

    thank you!

I see this issue come up every now and then. Sometimes – though I am not certain as to why – Joomla needs a little “kick-in-the-pants” with regard to the module position list.

First of all, open up your TemplateDetails.xml file and make sure there is a “top” position identified within the list of positions.

Then what you can try is – for the module you want to assign to the “top” position – is type in “top” within the position field.

More often than not, this will cause the position to miraculously activate and, from that point forward, appear within your position list for modules.

Let me know if that works for you.

    thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately the module does not seem to be in the list in TemplateDetails.xml

    <positions>
    <position>right</position>
    <position>accordion</position>
    <position>slider</position>
    <position>sl1-1</position>
    <position>content-mass-top</position>
    <position>ja-news-mobile</position>
    <position>sl1-2</position>
    <position>topbar</position>
    <position>ja-tabs</position>
    <position>content-mass-bottom</position>
    <position>foot-left</position>
    <position>foot-right</position>
    <position>megamenu</position>
    <position>sl1-3</position>
    <position>social</position>
    </positions>

Thank you for checking . . . very strange indeed.
I will follow-up on this issue with our JA Developers and get back to you as soon as possible with an update.

In the meantime, can you provide the url of the site you’re currently working on – I’m just curious to see how your initial installation turned out with certain modules. (Did you install using the quickstart+sample data process??)

For a possible manual solution – see the tutorial in Post #3 in THIS THREAD for the process of adding a new module position within a T3 Framework template . . . which JA Nex is.

Hope that helps . . . both as an assistance and as a learning tool as well.

    Tom,

I was able to make it show up by manually entering “top-panel” when I create a new module – I just made a quick test.
I intend to put a 728 banner up there.

You can see the result here:

    http://www.expeditionportal.com/1.7

I am just starting the implementation so there is not much yet. I have installed the quickstart + template.

One thing that I was curious about is why the quickstart file 18 MG, when the joomaly is 7 mg and the template about 1.8 mg where it the other 10 mg coming from?

In any case, I will probably flood you with questions over the next days as I am really liking this template and I want to use it for our site – which is getting a considerable amount of traffic.

    thank you!

I’m quite certain it comes from the additional information (i.e. sample data, images, modules, etc.) within the sample data part of the quickstart files.

Glad you were able to resolve your issue. Hope I helped out a bit.

All the best with your continuing site development !!!
